Osgood Schlatter's

I was wondering if any AMEs could please answer my question as to whether a previous case of Osgood Schlatter's on my knee would affect my chances of obtaining a Class 1 Medical. The condition occurred years ago and it causes no pain now, albeit has left a lump just below my knee.

Thanks!

I would have thought this to be unlikely of any significance.

Good luck.

I had that in my early teens. I've had no problems since, and continue to hold a class 1 medical.

Me too from 10 - 13 years. Never caused me any problems, and definitely not a problem getting my Class 1. Good luck!

Thanks for your replies... didn't realise it was so common. Well it's nice to know that I can worry about one less thing for the medical!

Cheers!

I too had this painful and frustrating condition when I was about 12. I blame it for my not being a Premiership footballer

I got a Class 1 without a problem.

cheers

My daughter suffered from Osgood Schlatter's when she was about 12 years old. Following surgery, it did nothing to prevent her from becoming a professional tennis player, and later, gaining a pilot's Class 1 medical.

So it actually looks like it could be a prerequisite for a successful life!

Maybe you can't get a class 1 without having had it?

Not considered a problem in Australia by either CASA or the major airlines for holding an unrestricted Class 1. IORRA
