Am i working out BMI correctly?
I was just wondering if i was working out BMI correctly... i was confused because if im doing it right then 20 stone+ people can get class 1 medis? :|
Im not going to do mine for privacy reasons :P but, lets do an example..
lets say 115kg weight and 2m height would gibe a BMI of around 29?

Yes SamGuest, you divide your weight in Kilograms by your height in meters squared, or twice if you like.
So 115kgs dive by 2.0 and 2.0 again (or 2.0 squared = 4.0) = 28.75 or BMI of 29 = overweight.
If you are 20 stone, then convert that to Kilograms = 127 kgs dived that by your height in meters squared.
max BMI without hassels is 35, over that they (CAA) may ask you to get cardiology tests depending how much you are over the BMI of 35 you are.
So normal blood pressure, cholesterol, cardivascular function, manipulate the aeroplane ok, perform emegency function etc. you will get your medical without problem even over 35.

Have a look at http://www.halls.md/body-mass-index/bmi.htm
It says that I'm 4 inches too short for my weight.
