Alcohol and Vinegar
As a Trainer, I've been asked many strange questions over the years - but this one rather stopped me in my tracks because I'd never considered it.
Vinegar is formed by the fermentation of alcohol - is there any residual alcohol left in the product? ... and indeed which product? Ordinary vinegar, white/red wine vinegar, rice vinegar ...... ?
We have very low limits on blood-alcohol levels now, as we all know - so does a salad or fish and chip supper just before going to work compromise us in any way? I did a PPRuNe search and a Google search but didn't come up with much.
Any chemists out there?

Just asked the boss who is a Pharmacist involved with medicine's info.
Vinegar has 0.03% alchol in it. If you love the stuff and have a bit of a fetish about it you might be screwed. Bread, cough medicine, mouth washes etc also contain alchol.
Just remember don't get up, have ten pieces of toast with vinegar on it and then go and use mouth wash!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, both for the info, and the excellent wit! I hate the stuff actually .... but, there's nothing like a bit of paranoia! Now, I wonder what's in toothpaste ........
