I had my intial 1st class medical at Gatwick on July 1st of last year so it will run out on the 1st July this year. The problem is that I am hoping to start a JAA CPL on the 4th of July at which point all I will have is the class 2 medical.
I know that for the issue of the CPL I would need the Class 1 but could I do the training and the test with my valid Class 2 and then when back in the UK afterwards renew the Class 1 and valudate the CPL?
If someone could clarify if this would be okay it would be much appreciated since once again I seem to leave things to the last minute.
Regards,
Mooneyboy.

It all fine as you have stated.
You can train and sit your skills test on a lapsed class 1 medical to class 2. In fact you could even do it all with no medical at all as there is no point which you will have to fly solo.
I did my cpl/ir and FIC all on a lapsed class 1 and only got a class 1 again the day i sent all the paper work off.

Mad Jock thanks for the reply this has definately made me feel more relaxed. Now all ( slight understatement) I have to do is pass these phase 2 exams next week and hopefully Arizona will beckon in July.
