does any one know what the CAA would have on having permant contact lenses fitted i can't have laser treatment they are called

I asked the UK CAA this question once (some years ago I must admit), and the answer was that like laser surgery this procedure leads to an automatic suspension of your medical for 12 months.
After these 12 months you 'might' get it back, but no guarantees.
Needless to say I didn't take the risk (apart from the fact I couldn't do without a medical for 12 months).

Mike, who says you cant have LASIK or similar mate?
Have a word with a few consultants before making any choices, Accuvision are famous for their ability to treat those others would not look twice at!
