Medical Standards In AAC
First of all i must apologise, im sure that there have been a million posts on conditions such as migraines. However i cant find a thread that answers my question.
I am a Student PPL, 16 going on 17. I am seriously starting to consider my future career options. I am looking at both military and civilian.
For now i am looking at the Military side: At the moment i wear glasses, not permanently i think the prescription is about -0.75. i understand that the RAF wont accept spectacle wearers, this is why i am considering the AAC, i have reason to believe that they accept spectacle wearers.
Also when i was about 12 i experienced what i thought was migraines, i was given a prescription by my Doc. After about 9 months i decided to stop the prescription, i have not had a migraine once in 5 years. i am not totally sure whether it is on my medical history as migraines (i am in the process of sorting this out). i think the main point though is that it never stopped me from working, it was more of an incovenience.
Do the army look at each individual case?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated

My only advice is just make sure you do NOT respond yes to the question on "have you had migraines". You will be chopped before you even start. If somehow they access your medical records then say "oh yes I did get mild headaches for a short period, they were nothing and so minor that I forgot them".
Basically do not allow yourself to be labelled.
