Cool Corrective Eye Surgery?

Can anyone whos had corrective eye surgery hold a class 1 medical certficate?

Apparently you will be considered as long as your prescription was within Class I standards BEFORE the op AND at least a year has elapsed since the op.

Hi

I believe there is something like a 12 month suspension of class 1 medical (or something along those lines), and if your eyes meet a certain standard after this time period then you will be handed back your class 1/ you can attain a class 1.
This is only what i have been told by friends as i havent looked into this for myself as yet.

I'm sure someone more in the know will be able to confirm or correct what i have said.

3 month suspension for LASIK surgery, 12 months for other types. Relevant CAA doc is:

I passed my initial Class 1 in May 02 after having had LASIK. The CAA were not big on it back then and put the brakes on me for years. These days they are more lenient.
