Apparently you will be considered as long as your prescription was within Class I standards BEFORE the op AND at least a year has elapsed since the op.

I believe there is something like a 12 month suspension of class 1 medical (or something along those lines), and if your eyes meet a certain standard after this time period then you will be handed back your class 1/ you can attain a class 1.
This is only what i have been told by friends as i havent looked into this for myself as yet.
I'm sure someone more in the know will be able to confirm or correct what i have said.
