Class 1 variations

It's amblyopic Farrell here again.
Just a question. Have any of you ever heard of someone failing a CAA Class 1 medical, only to then pass it in another JAA state?

And if so, can it then be converted back to CAA?

Farrel, in your 'lazy eye' whats your corrected vision? Is it marginally 6/9 or 6/12ish?

As for your question. I believe the FAA are much more friendly towards amblyopia cases.

If I recall correct, some one from pprune with 6/12ish vision has an FAA Class 1 with CPL etc. The FAA require some sort of a flying test before they issue the medical however.

I hope something works out for you

Pilot16..hello!

I think it's well beyond the 6/12. It would appear that I will have no problem with the FAA First Class with a medical and I am thinking about going the FAA route, but I will be doing my JAA PPL with EFT in March because I want to build hours here in France before the CPL/IR which I think will have to be done with the FAA.

Happy New Year mate!
