do you mean in the UK? or another country? In the UK if you are more then the intial limits and within the renewal limits then the CAA will look at your case

In the UK if you exceed the inital but comply with renewal standards you have what is known as a 'Deviation' issued to your medical. This allows you to go through professional pilot training, upon completing which (CPL, ATPL, IR etc.) the deviation will be removed

F,

May be you can have a look around on this Malaysian DCA website.

If it is not on there at least the telephone number for the relevant department is on there and I suggest you ring them.

Best of luck.

it's always worth reading older threads! This was exactly the question I was going to ask!
Can anyone tell me what these limits are? I had it written on a sticky note once, but sticky notes aren't the easiest things to keep track of!
thanks

becki,

you aszking bout which country??

if it's malaysia,

i can say that it's

-3.00D

for OZ

as long as you can correct to 20/20

for UK

-5D initial, -8D renewal

for Singapore,

i'vve asked before but it seems that there's no limit..

if vision is worst then 6/60, a full-opthamology check is needed to ensure that you don't have any disease...
