You will be amazed at how much better you do at altitude. It will take seferal years to really see the difference but it is worth it. I stopped smoking 24 years ago and it was verrry easy. The very hard part is not starting again. These are two separate acts. The second one is a continueing life choice. GOOD LUCK!!!

Apparently strawberries contain "ellagic" acid. This reduces and often neutralises the damaging effects of the carcinogen PAH found in cigarette smoke.

Please don't start smoking now, now that you know how to keep the damage within limits.

I recommend all passive smokers, who dislike the smell and "taste" of smoke, to eat strawberries when available.

Nature is simply the best.

Unfortunately, there is no evidence that strawberries reduce the harmful effects of cigarette smoking, so I wouldn't hang your hat on them.

Cheers,

heehee.. you're the wizard of medical understatement BM.

Can't hurt to chew on a few strawberries though. In the meantime, for the majority of "lengthy..heavy" smokers, by the time you give up, the damage is already done.
H.

Ps. heroin is supposed to be easier to give up than nicotine.

A lot of health benefits are almost immediate, but it does take about 15 years after quitting for the risk of lung cancer to return to that of a non-smoker. Some damage, such as emphysema, is irreversible.

Cheers,
