USA FAA class 1 medical ??'s
I am applying to a flight academy in Florida, and need to get my 1st class medical out of the way soon. I go in for the exam on Monday. Was wanting to be prepared for what to expect. I am very near a PPL, and have had a 2nd class medical before that required defferment, I was treated for mild depression in 1996-1997 for about a 9 month period following side effects of Accutane (turns out now that depression is a major side effect, but was not recognized at the time!). Had my 2nd class issued in 1998, and renewed as a 3rd class only in 2001 (its taken me a while to finish PPL!! i either had time but no money or money but no time to finish, hence appication to academy to finish Instrument --> jet transition. Has anyone had a problem getting a 1st class medical under these conditions? Will i know results of my medical "on the spot" or will they have to go for review (2nd ws only deffered because of treatment, becaus of prior disclosure 3rd was on the spot issuance). I am under 40 so no need for EKG tape, but curious abotu what else makes it different besides only being valid for 6 months? Since treatment I have had no recurrence of symptoms, and no need for further treatment. Otherwise in great health. Vision corrected to 20/20, can hear a gnat fart at 1000 meters, can make out numbers on "color dotcharts" that only half the population can see..

Hi,
If nothing has changed there should be no problem.
You have a condition which was previously reported and dealt with (as demonstrated by your medical and the issuance then)

If you fail to pass, and if it means a great deal to you, you want to contact a lawyer.
