Eye glasses disadvantage
I was just wondering if wearing eye glasses would bring me to a disadvantage when I go apply at airlines...Most airlines write in the requirements section that you need a "unrestricted medical" unfortunately mine is restricted to corrective lenses... My medical examiner said not to worry about it and that there were pilots in Air Canada that were "blind as bats"... And anybody know the scope on lasik surgery...I heard some airlines don't like applicants who have had it...My current vision is 20/40 uncorrected (and it's not getting any better)

Many of us wear glasses and as a matter of fact glasses aren't usually a reason for disqualification, especially in Canada.
With regards to Lasik, one might want to thoroughly check that one out before attempting it. Although treatment has become excellent over the last while, one minor mess up can permanently damage an eye that otherwise would have been OK with glasses.
