So, in a year plus some months, the situation may be as follows:
Be kind to forward this to Boris & co, as he's almost certainly not thinking that far ahead. |

Feel free, Ninthace ... assuming you have no regard for your reputation ! I have to admit to a preference for subtlety in humour, but perhaps ... Widger ? |

Now we have this sooopah deal with Aus and N.Z. ....and let's face it, having s£%t on them from a great height in the past, it's only right and proper the UK should make reparations in the spirit of the Glorious Empire. Just ignore the fact the financial returns will be considerably reduced from, say, trading with a bloc about 22miles, give or take, from our shores. This glowing piece explains all...however, you have been warned...do not convulse with disdain / laughter when you read the bit about " In line with our policy of transparency and scrutiny " .. .Some hapless minion was probably told to write this in all seriousness in the hope it would at least read as plausible...given neither criteria have been apparent with this Gov't to-date...and never will be. Hi Guys,
I've been away from the day to day political manoeuvrers in the UK for a bit, could anyone more up to date, post a precis as to why the impending "reworking" of the NI Protocol is happening? I have family members in NI and none seem to be bothered in the least with the current arrangements, in fact some are making out nicely. Of far greater importance, will the proposed amendments affect my ability to have Veggie Roll delivered here down south in a timely manner from Messrs Hoy in Portadown... now that's a red line... Que, "What is Veggie Roll"... |

Que, "What is Veggie Roll"... That made me laugh. You make a great point. I think you should be ok with that veggie roll Mini. However a warning ..... it may be made with contents not approved or inspected by the EU, not package approved by the EU, not label approved by the EU and then delivered into an EU country. Bless them all. It should however be a great flavour, possibly sweet and bring a wry smile when eaten ! Possibly accompanied by some Erin Gove chutney from County Fermanagh NI. |
To further assist, a simple way to provide your desired diversion into Vexillology, would be to use the 'New Thread' facility. https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/thumbs.gif |
Cousins telling Tubs no trade deal if he breaks the NI protocol. Your move Mr.de Pfeffel. Oh hang on, that looks like checkmate.

The "benefits " of Brexit are now emerging in the most unlikely sectors..
Given vets are best treated as, possibly, even more mercenary than lawyers when it comes to fees, Brexit has kindly provided a new income stream !....along with endless opportunities in N I as we know. We are assured by Right20deg et al that if we hold on long enough, we will see the benefits of BREXIT but at the moment, they seem to moving further and further away. None of the campaign slogans seem to have come true. Is there no ray of hope anywhere?
So far all that has happened is I have a gopping black passport in lieu of a nice burgundy one and SWMBO does not even have that, after weeks of waiting, so we can't even have a decent holiday away from it all. |

There was a fleeting and unlikely ever to be repeated clip of Boris telling the truth last night.
This was on "HIGNFY ", broadcast on BBC1 at 21.00 hrs, and not to be confused with "Question Time ".. and a copy cat format broadcast from Jodrell Bank in the hope of contacting a parallel universe ..this seems to have worked quite well actually. A BBC reporter asks Boris, " who signed the Brexit agreement ? "...without a moments thought or hesitation, Boris replies " I did ! " |
"Ah, Foreign Sec, or is that Brexit Minister, I can never really tell which job you are doing on a day to day basis at times..it's like this.
Boris has dug, and continues to dig, a very deep hole for himself over somewhere called Northern Ireland, you continue to have aspirations to replace him and compound his lies by doing so. You see, our American cousins have considerably more clout, as they say, than the pair of you put together so possibly it would be a good idea to start listening...for a change ? " (with apologies to Sir Humphrey here) Liz Truss rejects plea from Biden ally not to rewrite the Northern Ireland protocol | Brexit | The Guardian |

Strangely enough, I thought.. this reminds me of many of the chaps on here... who don't like foreigners !....and the EU of course. . https://scontent.fbhx4-1.fna.fbcdn.n...Uw&oe=629F7380 |

Whilst we wait, and it's going to be a very, very, long wait, for those rabid supporters to produce supportive evidence in this respect, in the interim...

With Brexit, we can keep a safe distance, while holding our nose, from negotiating with folk such as this....
_____________ Guardian " Angela Merkel has said she feels no regrets for her handling of Vladimir Putin during her time in power, arguing that Russia’s president would have perceived a 2008 Nato membership plan for Ukraine that was blocked by her government as a “declaration of war”. " ______________ On my goodness...for that time again Frau Merkel. Perhaps just a slip...no way, maybe...a lapse...no this was your policy, ok then a mistake....ya ya. Time then for some hard ball on the NI border procedures. Legislation for establishing green and red channel import of goods will speed things up and confirm trusted trader status for the majority who comply. As suggested by UK PM Johnson...years ago ! Please push the EU hard Ms Truss. Perhaps any objection to this, by the EU, could result in the UK border control introducing red channel procedures for all eu goods and non brit passengers entering the UK. A full vehicle inspection, with emission control tests followed by a strip search of ...well everyone. |
