The EEC (EU) explained by Sir Humphrey
|
We can only imagine the Euphoria that will erupt in JB Wisteria Avenues, and Mail readers hearts and minds, when they read this sad news....
Still, that's the true British spirit coming to the fore as we jolly well show those Continental types that plucky Britain stands alone without them !.....and just wait until the ultimate status symbol, " of course, we've got a Blue parseport, mwah ! "( printed , erm, "not in the UK " ) start to appear .......... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47833702 Elsewhere, the rest of the world convulses with laughter......so the UK will doubtless be sending a gunboat to remind the nations involved as to the status of the UK... https://www.theguardian.com/politics...ld-sees-brexit |
I quite like this one:
"A country determined to commit economic suicide but unable even to agree on how to kill itself” “Everything that’s happening testifies to the irresponsibility of the British elite, their inability to correlate Britain’s capabilities with its reality, its ideas about the world with what its people want, and simply to answer our modern challenges.” “A second people’s referendum is not allowed because it violates ‘democracy’, yet May’s shit Brexit agreement is repeatedly submitted to parliament. Is this democracy?” |

A recent report by that doyen of lefty snowflakes Morgan Stanley cites how much Britain has lost in GDP since June 2016, and it is vast sum, doesnt seem to have made the pages of the telegraph the mail or Express . I wonder why ? Equally it goes on to say there is no prospect of britain making it up because it is insignificant as regrdsw orld trade except as a big importer of things many of us will no longer be able to afford.
Another week has gone by and this time no accusations of antisemitism about Mr Corbyn because he could now possibly help a brexit at least in name and surprisingly few appeals to be aptriotic to wavering MPs, of course the irony is the patriotic ones will dismiss the Daily Nazi and the Boris Graph for the cowards and traitors they are and vote remain . And still no one can come up with any reason whatsoever about not having a second referendum, what are these people afraid of -Novichok perhaps for taking Russian money but not delivering the goods- more plausible that some of the very few nonsensical answers government has given. Meanwhile every day our real economy shrinks and our status in the world drops even lower and out solution to stop being the Venezuala of Europe would be to have Boris (isnt that a Russian name??) as PM. Or maybe the Himmler like Rees-Mogg after all we are Anglo Saxons , all the worlds troubles are caused by foreigners and we have been betrayed by past leaders . Worked in the 1930s so perhaps that mantras time has come again,-and the Daily Mail was 100% behind it then too didnt end well though did it |

A recession – two consecutive quarters of negative output – will probably be avoided with the help of higher government spending but it could be a close run thing. Brexit is not the only factor holding back the economy. Global growth is slowing and there are some other EU countries, Germany and Italy for example, that did even worse in the second half of 2018. Pressure to avoid a no-deal Brexit will not be coming just from policy makers in the UK. That's from the same story. Is there uncertainty? Yes, of course there is, nothing like stating the bleeding obvious, but to borrow a [email protected] phrase from elsewhere, we are where we are. The ridiculous thing is, the longer both parliament and the government pisses about the worse the situation will be. |

The problem with Brexit is that it is a solution to a problem that didn't exist.
The problem now is that Brexit is a problem with a solution that doesn't exist. All of the possible resolutions will result in enormous dislocation of British society. In fact Britishness itself could disappear. Brexit is really an expression of English nationalism. The fear that Englishness has been diluted which flies in the face of the reality that Englishness has been spread far and wide to the point where the English no longer realise the cultural impact they've had. The likely result is that England and the Welsh will become the rump of the UK while the Scots grow a pair and seek their own destiny and six counties of the North of Ireland will finally surrender to the inevitable reality that theirs is an artificial construct and join the hinterland. None of this was in the Leave manifesto. But look at the bright side. English Taxpayers the few who will be left won't have to subsidise the ungrateful Scots and Irish. Just the Welsh and the North of England. That's a Brexit dividend right there. Plus of course England will be able to make trade deals with Mongolia and Kazakhstan. . Happy days. |
I believe yurts are increasingly popular.

I hope wusn't thunking about including Yorkshire in this proposed largesse ! Even more so when they declare UDI ......along with Cornwall. |
Pretty soon the Queen will only rule over London. But then that will be rather back to the status quo of the Middle Ages, which seems rather where Britain is locked anyway. No good ever came of allegiances with evil empires bent on draconian domination and the creation of their own military oppression capabilities.

Thanks racedo, especially after some clueless @r$e a while ago on this Thread tried to say that Britain is the Venezuela of Europe!!!!
Some interesting figures there, such as the comparison between French and British joblessness. I will quote a 'Nederlander' that I spoke to recently: "Striking is in the French DNA". Sally, maybe because they need our dosh? |
