When you consider the childish and insulting attitude of Farage and his cronies over the past few years I'm amazed the EU hasn't just thrown us out! |

I agree, although Italian politics are not exactly a bed of roses.

Amber Rudd going on about time spent on no deal, surely that is simply playing catch up on getting it in place in case it happens, as May didn't bother.

Even in Ireland we’re fed up. Latest estimates are our economic growth would slow to 0.9% as a result of a Hard Brexit. Stay or go, but please end this pathetic spectacle. And remember, when it comes time for you to seek a trade deal with the EU, the backstop will still be there. |

So you agree with your supreme leader M. Napoleon Macron (who's popularity rating can't fall much further)?
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...nch-poll-shows How's the yellow vest protest doing? FWIW I'm not fond of the "humility and respect" comment ( though I thought us Brits weren't meant to be thin skinned, and Brexiters only think of others, not themselves as snowflakes, just goes to show..) but some politeness and an ability to reach agreement through compromise, and being seen to be able to collaborate with other parties might have been helpful....but it's too late now. UK politicians have given the impression of being willing to p.... inside and outside the tent at the same time....it's not an attractive quality if you are looking for partners to work with. |
Tandem p>>>ers? Interesting ;) Glad i'm not in your tent.

Me neither, Bulldog89. 17.4 million UK "leave" voters will be eternally grateful if you could ensure that your EU official(s) veto's any UK request for a membership extension beyond 31st October 2019.

Pretty difficult to understand from the EU perspective to be honest...I mean, it's the UK asking for more time, not the EU. I suspect Brexit was an internal plan made up by NF and BJ to get more votes but slipped out of control when the people really voted to leave. Now everyone knows it will be a mess and the UK politicians are waiting for the EU to terminate the UK membership, so when things will go baaaaaadly they could always blame the EU for kicking them out when the UK wasn't ready. The British public will fall for it as it's the most convenient truth to believe and the directors of this catastrophe will keep their votes... |
Bercow going. As he was told that the Conservatives were going to field someone else against him in his Conservative constituency, I think he has finally woken up, smelt the coffee and made up a load of bull poo to make it look like it is his decision instead of being given the heave ho.

and the non-grateful 44 million, or so, other UK citizens should accept this piece of political crass stupidity? |
Unfortunately the opposition don’t wish for this, maybe because polls show Johnson would be a runaway winner. And Brexit would follow. Those polls in favour of Johnson suggest that the public still want Brexit. |

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/poli...-a4232411.html Perhaps very un-parliamentary in normal times but certainly within current precedence. He may well have shot the fox of the Scruffy Lying Bumbling Blimp. |
From the Canadian Press..
We begin this editorial with an apology to you, our faithful readers. In March, we described the Brexit situation, then careening through its third year and nowhere close to resolution, as an “omnishambles.” An omnishambles is a state of utter chaos, total disorder and perfect mismanagement – which brings us to our apology. If you’ve been paying any attention to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, you know that, in declaring United Kingdom politics to have reached peak shambolic six months ago, we spoke too soon. Oh, did we ever. |

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/poli...-a4232411.html In all probablility if John Bercow runs again he will be re elected. Even were he to quit the Tory party he would be still in with a good chance given his Buckingham constituency voted Remain. |
