UK opposition parties have agreed not to back Boris Johnson's demand for a general election before the EU summit in mid-October. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49609677 |

That's the only way to capture the Scottish vote. Then drag it off to the nearest china shop.

What is amusing me currently is the rash of Remain voters who phone talk shows and say "I voted Remain but because I value democracy I think that we should now just get it done." Well, were this to be the case then we would be seeing movement away from the 52/48 referendum split in a direction of Leave. What we are seeing in fact is a movement in the other direction. So somebody in addition to Young Pfeffel is telling porkies. |

Well keeping with the current theme, and pics, involving bulls ( and china shops :D ) and Boris, here's another on the same theme. Obviously, it should be a horse, but I bet bulls is just like horses when it comes to drinking, plus they both produce a similar end product readily associated with Boris and his utterings.....
Talking of which, here's the latest horse / bull ( rude word ) from Boris....." the powers of persuasion " it seems will be his cunning plan to thwart the dastardly EU.....erm, just a couple of flaws here......one being Boris, the other being the EU are not going to be over enamoured with Boris and his "persuasive charm "..probably because he lacks both traits..... https://www.theguardian.com/politics...ew-brexit-deal |

Does a situation now exist where:
- nobody nows what the original breexit vote ment - nobody knows what the proper procedure in a situation like this is concerning the government - nobody knows what the queen can and cannot do I don't have an opinion one way or the other as brexit does not really afffect me. But it certainly looks like a thorough fubar. Just curious. |
Let's get serious. Will they be blue?
CG |
Aihkio; fubar doesn't even get close to the situation in British politics right now. Indeed, fubar implies some kind of intent...………..
|
I'm a bit disappointed that the long denied election pact between Boris and Nigel hasn't been announced yet. What's keeping them?
|
You have to announce an election first.

Out shopping this morning and we had 'enthusiasts' from either faction on opposite sides of the street. Remainers anticipating civil unrest if they don't get their way second time around. Brexiteers ( Brexit Party ) claiming that there will be a pact between Johnson and Farage in order to get Brexit over the line after the next election. How in God's name do we get Johnson, Corbyn, Farage, Sturgeon, Abbot, MacDonald in such positions. I leave Swinson out of that list because being a Liberal she is by definition a loser ! |
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/988643...-unacceptable/ Two top EU chiefs tell Remainers NO more Brexit delays TWO top EU chiefs have told Remainers they will BLOCK any further Brexit delays as Brussels slammed the fiasco as “unacceptable”. Guy Verhoftstadt fired off the warning just hours after France’s foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drain, said he would refuse any move to extend Brexit. Verhoftstadt, the European Parliament’s chief Brexit co-ordinator, said another extension would be “unacceptable unless the deadlock in London is broken”. He added: “Let it be a 2nd ref., new elections, a revocation of art. 50 or the approval of the deal, but not today’s helpless status quo.” This morning Le Drian gave Boris Johnson an unexpected boost when he said given the current situation, France would reject any extension. Speaking this morning to Europe 1, he said: “The British say they want to come up with alternative solutions for withdrawal and No Deal, we have not seen them, so it’s ‘no’, we’re not going to do it every three months.” And the irritated minister slammed the situation in Britain as “disturbing”, adding: “There’s no majority for anything.”......... |

Unless I’m mistaken, and I know I’ll be quickly corrected if I am, neither of these gentlemen have any say in agreeing a Brexit extension which I understand is solely in the gift of the EU Council of Ministers. Even Tusk is just a bag carrier. But make your mind now. This reminds me my children's behaviour when they were 2 years old... and then, there is nothing like a good deadline to teach them how to make a decision. |
So you agree with your supreme leader M. Napoleon Macron (who's popularity rating can't fall much further)?
There are those of us here in the UK who are totally determined to leave because of the likes of him. How's the yellow vest protest doing? |

It is not only those two gentlemen saying this. It is a general consensus among the european citizen. You (the Uk ) are being so childish. You want out? So get out, with whatever consequence that comes with leaving. Or stay.
The rest of the EU can take the slight economic pain of a No Deal (it will be far, far worse in the UK however) and continue with developing free trade agreements with the rest of the world the UK will now no longer be able to access. A period of time in the sin bin might be what the UK needs, and after they have learned some humility and respect they can come back to the EU and politely ask for a re-admission or at least a trade deal. |
