Prince Harry Hitched

I like the bit...'Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessings of Ms. Markle's parents'...
My...things have changed since the middle ages :}

 Oh no, the newspapers will go into meltdown between now and the great day.

As a result, watch out for the burying of bad news!

The Royal Family tends to hand out titles as wedding presents: Prince Edward became Earl of Wessex, Prince William became Duke of Cambridge, and so on. They should make Harry the Duke of Windsor, just to show they have a sense of humour ... :E

ORAC 27th Nov 2017 10:58

I think the spellchucker caught you out there - changing “hooked” to “hitched”......

I see from the official announcement that they plan to live in Nottingham Cottage. I misread that as "a Nottingham cottage" and wondered whether it might be anywhere near my daughter and her partner who live in Nottingham.

Turns out it's an apartment in Kensington Palace. Silly me!

Separate building, also used by William and Kate after their marriage. Number 9 on the photo.

It gets much worse than just the papers. ( the Mail / Express and Sun's slavering sycophancy excepted that is )

We can now expect not only excessive, and excruciating to listen to, appearances from the Beebs "Royal Correspondent " allied to dragging, or dredging out, take your pick, that well known and well documented on here species known as "Royal Hobsarvahs ".....a nation waits breathlessly for the minutiae of the line of succession to be explained, how she will be formally adapted to protocols and how many times a day she can have a coffee or tea break.

But you get the impression that neither of the happy couple are going to be overly concerned about any of the above however.

Thanks ORAC. Cottage? Not exactly roses around the door, is it?

PDR1 27th Nov 2017 12:00

I wonder if a certain brainless MP will now announce that Harry was someone next to him to push the knobs and play with the buttons for him on his wedding night...

PDR

PS - But on the up-side - perhaps now Dave will pick up season 7 of Suits...

What are the odds at Betfred? I reckon that's a go-er.

Just checked with the wife - we didn't get a thing! Did you have to wrtie to someone for it or something?

vctenderness 27th Nov 2017 12:22

I heard ‘Royal expert’ Roya Nikka on LBC at around 09.55 state categorically that there would be no announcement today, this week or indeed this month. She said there could be an announcement around January but this may also not happen.

She told the presenter everyone needs to relax as she was confident about this.

I switched stations at 10.00 due to the imminent arrival of one of broadcasting’s biggest assholes, James O’Brian, and heard the news of the engagement!

I suggest that Roya Nikka starts looking for a new job..

Good to read some pleasant news instead of all the unpleasant crap we're subjected to every day!

troppo 27th Nov 2017 12:34

It's good they breeding the ginga out of the blood line though

chevvron 27th Nov 2017 12:47

I bet Kate's thinking 'thank christ for that, now maybe he won't keep following me around'.

Some things should really be kept offshore. The Church of England will be prostituting itself yet again if Justin Welby, or any other such priest, conducts the service. It really is too bad, all this religious dogma, happy clapping and Brexit clap trap combined with a nod to the bigamous and the adulterous. Such hypocrisy deserves to have the vaulted roofs pulled down around its flying buttresses.
Never mind though, the British tax payer will end up paying a significant portion of the bill. The secret service costs alone will be enormous, probably enough to provide at least a country hospital.
Still, if May plays her cards right, she'll be able to score points with the public off the Marxist Corbyn and the Stalin Lansman, both of whom would abolish the monarchy. There'll be a groundswell of public fervour for the royal family and it'll be easy to get the lemmings to look the other way.
Strange to reflect though that she wouldn't be where she is now though were it not for the war of northern aggression.

Cazalet33 27th Nov 2017 13:08

A German marries a Murrican divorcee.

And that's "News" ?

TURIN 27th Nov 2017 13:09

Email already sent to Aunty Beeb for the sycophantic, repetitive, boring load of old bowlarks and wall to wall crap spouted by no-mark talking heads and ex-this and ex-that commentators!

Aaaaaarrgghhh!!!

What's a United vs City match got to do with getting her elected ?

However, the unpalatable side of the UK media regarding this match surfaces almost as predictably as the sun rises and sets. No prizes for guessing the rags involved prior to reading the link.

I happened to mention to my wife this morning, that I wondered if BBC Breakfast could ever get through a show without mentioning Brexit and then this happens. Whilst I’m a fervent republican, any change of news is welcome at the moment.
