I never claimed to?

Few of us would work if we didn't have to! What I meant was that considering how much is on offer from Centrelink I do doubt that welfare is preferable to working, except perhaps to the laziest of ne'er-do-wells (surely not 85% of humanitarian migrants).

parabellum 14th Oct 2015 04:20

There are some amazing welfare scams running at the moment chuboy, the one quoted in the press was an lady of ME origin with four kids, taking maximum allowances from c'link, then she says she cannot cope, needs help, fortunately another ME lady only a few doors away agrees and now gets carers allowance, this little earner runs in a circle back to the original lady who is also getting carers allowance for looking after kids from next door etc.

chuboy 14th Oct 2015 04:55

Do you mean "the press" as in Fairfax/News Ltd? Or "the press" as in an unsourced blog post or blog comment by Bolt/Ackerman/et al?

If the former, I would be interested to see a link. Although I think it is a long bow to draw to say such convoluted arrangements are the norm. In my experience most people find it hard enough just to receive centrelink payments that they would be genuinely entitled to

Yep what we need is lots of pomp and circumstance, make a huge deal out of it. Declare it a national day off to mourn. All flags at half mast for a week. Maybe a posthumous knighting (are they still doing that?)

Roll out the PM, get the GG as well, hell see if the Queen will turn up.

Maybe time to start TSA-style pat-downs before you leave a building.

Not to demean the man's life but interrupting the spinning of the cart of life's wheels over a "terrorist attack" is exactly what "they" want. Better not to indulge "them".

Anders Brevik could have been put to death over his atrocities and he would have been made into a martyr in doing so. Instead he is rotting in prison with no ceremony and in time the person and cause will be forgotten about. The way it should be.

Eddie Dean 18th Oct 2015 04:36

Agreed Chuboy, except treat the vermin like a rabid dog circling your camp, no emotion just shoot it.

Then Prime Minister rudd and leader of the opposition turnbull attended a memorial service for Michael Fussell. Seems when turbull was in opposition he saw the 'need' to attend a memorial service and now he's in 'power' its not worth his bother. turnbull is self serving garbage..:hmm:

Some other snippets...
Howard attended the terrorist attack Bali bombings memorial service. Gillard attended the 10 year Bali memorial service. Tony Abbott attended the Martin Place terrorist attack victims memorial service. Howard even attended a Canberra memorial service for the London bus terrorist attack victims.

Flying Binghi - This can't be right, I've just watched BBC World service and all they said was that Israeli armed forces opened fire with live ammunition on stone throwing Palestinian youths in the 'Occupied' West Bank, shirly shum mishtake? ;)

MTOW 19th Oct 2015 02:44

Polls. Hmmmm... Last night, Channel 7 did an expose (if milder than expected) on the anti-Islamic group 'Reclaim Australia'. They announced a poll during the programme, asking: "Do you agree that Reclaim Australia represents Australian values?"

At the end of the programme, the presenter reminded viewers that the poll was running, but did not say how the numbers were for 'yes' or 'no', which led me to think that the numbers weren't panning out the way the MSM luvvies at Channel 7 would have preferred them to. A half hour after the programme ended, it was showing 77% 'Yes' and 23% 'No'.

By this morning, it was 39% yes and 61% 'no'.

Which makes one ask: who logs on to vote on a television poll in the small hours of the morning? Surely those who actually WATCHED the programme would have voted immediately or soon after the programme ended. Those who voted overnight are far more likely activists who were contacted on social media and told to swing the vote - or were employees of GetUp doing what employees of GetUp do.

Polls? On the topic above and about the success of Malcom Turnbull's Prime Ministership? For this little black duck at least, bah humbug!

Use of a car already done:

On the afternoon of 22 May 2013, a British Army soldier, Fusilier Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, was attacked and killed by Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale near the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, southeast London.[3][4][5][6][7][8] Rigby was off duty and walking along Wellington Street when he was attacked.[9] Adebolajo and Adebowale ran him down with a car, then used knives and a cleaver to stab and hack him to death.

Although, it might be time to learn how to emulate stuntman Grant Page as shown on the Don Lane Show many years ago:

I'm cynical enough to believe that the MSM luvvies could just have faked (changed) the result to suit themselves!:hmm:

Agreed, but how do we expose them? Don't suppose the MSM will help!:(

Well, also the mere fact that the 'results' changed by such a large amount in a realtively short time, and overnight as well, should make anyone with a modicum of common sense suspect that something is not entirely straight.:hmm:

However, Parabellum; As we both know, common sense is not so common.

The opposition are sinking really low in trying to score points. For a change it's not low as in 'low blow', but just pathetically low as in 'nbot at all of interest or newsworthy'. It's a sad commentary on the quality of "News" that the print media even bother reporting it, but I guess they have a political journalist and they have to report something:

...Ms Bishop responded with the emoji of a red face with a furrowed brow.

Senator Wong - fresh from probing how a marble table was broken in a raucous party on the night Tony Abbott lost the prime ministership - wanted to know why.

"I'd like to understand what the diplomatic message is of the red face?" Senator Wong asked officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

"Is it intended to suggest the Foreign Minister is angry at President Putin? Or does it express something else?

"What is the statement or public message of the red face? We don't like him? We're angry at him?"

DFAT officials said they would take the question on notice, meaning they would investigate it and respond at a later date.

... Ms Bishop quickly hit Twitter to respond. Via emoji naturally.
