p.s

The question is, in our social evolution, who should give ground, well simply put, its the group trying to push for where we are going. Generally thats the left. The reason being, is the group that belongs where we are, or have been, have their values breed into them, that takes time to breed out.
Would someone mind deciphering this into english for me? I'm lost, ty.

rh200 9th Apr 2015 11:12

Try harder Hempy, I know you have it in you:p

Worrals in the wilds 10th Apr 2015 21:58

Worrals, did you read my third paragraph? I've added bold face to stress the point I thought I was making.
I did, and I agree; the bastards fuelling the revolution are usually just the same as the bastards they replace. Sorry if it sounded otherwise. The only problem with paying MPs a pittance (or not paying them at all, which is one argument) is that competent people who can earn similar money outside of politics as professionals or in business won't go near it, because why would you. Of course despite all the money and perks competent people don't seem to be going near politics under the current system either, so I don't know what the solution is.

Eddie Dean 10th Apr 2015 23:08

Competent people earn high incomes
Therefore only people who earn high incomes are competent?

alisoncc 10th Apr 2015 23:39

Competent at what? At rorting the system - lots are good at that.

rh200 11th Apr 2015 02:08

Competent at what?
Exactly right, what, you can be competent at one discipline and completely useless at another, though the person usually won't admit it.

At rorting the system - lots are good at that.
By rorting if you mean illegally doing something, yes. By rorting you mean legally getting what you are lawfully entitled to, yes again.

Competent people earn high incomes
Therefore only people who earn high incomes are competent?
Nope, but again, competent at what.

Of course despite all the money and perks competent people don't seem to be going near politics under the current system either, so I don't know what the solution is.
If your earning lots of money, why would you, the amounts pollys earn for the bullshit they put up with, and create is a pittance compared to the private sector.

The answer is, we have the best we will get, more or less. The answer is to not get involved in all this them and us bullsh!t that we like to. The current economic situation, and our insistence on sticking to our religious like dogma is what the problem is, hence the pollys follow suite.

From Wiktionary:

rort (plural rorts)
(Australia, New Zealand) A scam or fraud, especially involving the misappropriation of public money or resources.

I have to admit to being more than a little bemused to hear that Dandenong Council is encouraging non-Muslim women to wear the hijab (I'm assuming just for one day) so that they can 'bond'with Muslim women.

This really is a very different Australia to the one I grew up in, and I fear we're in a situation today not unlike a frog in a pot of water being brought slowly to the boil.

Captain Dart 11th Apr 2015 07:40

So how about the Muslim women also go for a day bare headed, a swim in the mixed pool, then down to the pub lounge to enjoy a glass of wine and a nice pork roast?

Hmmm...I thought not.

rh200 11th Apr 2015 07:55

Should run a naked bike ride or gay pride event at the same time.:E

It's gratifying to se the reaction by the majority of those who commented on the two links in Fubaar's post.

But it has to be said... not all. Among the gratifying responses are a few from the Politically Correct saying it's a wonderful idea. Apparently it was the brainchild of a 15 year old named Fatima as part of a film project.

Clowns like those councillors, in adopting ideas like this, are doing us a favour - bringing this issue to Joe Public's attention. Closing Council pools to other ratepayers to allow Muslim women to use the swimming pool without suffering the horror of having a non-family male seeing them in their burqinis has been going on for years now in some parts of Melbourne and Sydney with hardly a whimper from the rate payers.

Not exactly sure how it works but I believe the Swiss run a system that would seem to be ideal, if we can clear the entire present lot out, lock stock and barrel and replace it with the Swiss system, see here:

Politics of Switzerland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Doesn't look as though the militant union movement dominate but they wouldn't be stopped from participating.

bosnich71 11th Apr 2015 09:17

Ref. ..Hibabs,that nice Mr. Andrews has, reportedly, donated $100,000 to help us all to 'assimilate'. First cab off the rank is Dandenong Council's 'Happy Hibab Day'. Should make some happy.

Do gays and muslims openly mix?

Do they pay a fee? I only ask because a male friend of mine is in a nudist swimming club, and they pay to privately rent a Council pool one evening a month. Personally I hope they drain it afterwards (and if they all look like him other potential users are probably paying to stay away :}), but apparently it's quite easy to do if you cough up the money and hire the pool outside peak times.

Or a Wiccan sabbat. :E Captain Dart, I'm with you on that one.

rh200 11th Apr 2015 11:57

Do you have a point to make Hempy, I certainly don't hate Muslims or gays. Some of the nicest people I have meet are members of the above groups.

Or are you just as guilty of grouping and being what you accusing others of?

Hempy 11th Apr 2015 12:18

I don't recall mentioning names, rh200, but if the cap fits...

RJM 11th Apr 2015 12:29

hire the pool outside peak times.
Or outside peek times.
