...and then, as sure as night follows day, the appeal, funded by the taxpayer via legal aid, where on some technicality, either the finding will be found to be unsafe or the sentence too harsh and the two will be let off, awarded huge compensation for the pain and suffering they endured before being released.

Then the book deal, the TV interviews, the 'Underbelly' style miniseries (the 'approved' version like the Ibrahim brothers allowed).

You all know that the second and third paragraphs are going to happen, because how many times have we seen it before? We have a problem, and it's not arriving on the boats. We can take the easy path and blame it on the boat people, or we can take the more difficult path and address the actual problem; the problem that was born here. Neither of these men are refugees; they were born in Australia.



They do not have the excuse of growing up in a violent refugee camp or an amoral war zone; they grew up in Sydney. Despite this relatively affluent upbringing (by world standards) they chose the path of murder and hatred. They have no excuse, and we have no excuse. We can't defer their behaviour onto 'refugees' or 'boat people'; they are neither. They are Australians, and even if we turn back every single boat they will remain so.

Even if you stop every single boat, there will still be these people in our community. IMO, the boats are not the primary concern; the primary concern is the radicalised, first born Australians. How we address this issue is up for debate, but personally I see a greater risk in these guys than in the economic migrants from Sri Lanka.

I read in a couple of the articles in other media where it said "if they come back to Australia they will be arrested".

What happened to Interpol and putting them on a list so if they leave where they are they get arrested ? Why only arrest them when they come back ?

Are the old argument for and against fixed price contracts. Been going on for ages, there's usually a reason some of them are expensive, its because there's a big risk in them.

Its usually the reason governments take on some of the risk themselves and then get bitten. At least with fixed price you can have a amount of certainty.

"learn how to write contracts". After all, contracts are one of the things highlighted in various reviews that are an issue.

Re FPC's, since non FPC's seem not to have worked so well, then why not give them a go ??? :O ;)

Anyway, if you have a FPC's, you also need to specify the price of things not covered by the FPC before you sign it !!!

500N ... isn't the problem with FPCs' that the Navy/Army/Air Force always want to take huge leaps into the future with regard to capabilities and that sort of thing leads to cost blow outs etc.
