Shorten only supports her while he positions himself to take the top job. She can no longer be sure where his immediate loyalties lie; so he's put on ice. I wonder how the libs would have gone had Windsor and Oakeshott supported Abbott in 2010? Would they have disintegrated under the pressure of minority government and internal pressures too? I have a feeling our mysogeny story for today will come courtesy of Defence; possibly ADFA cadets and social media. |

In my opinion, better, much better because the internal pressures wouldn't be as strong AND whatever they are, they would be kept under control. The libs still remember the Peacock saga which I am sure they won't want to repeat. |
Not the ABC
This afternoon I’ll be interviewed by an Aussie film crew working on a documentary. Afterward, my husband is going to cook us all dinner...

"I have a feeling our mysogeny story for today will come courtesy of Defence; possibly ADFA cadets and social media. " They are getting predictable. You were half right. Navy cadets and midshipmen ! 12.18 today in The Age Seven defence cadets suspended over 'misconduct' |
Well you don't have to worry about Joolia appearing in any 'sordid videos' as there isn't a big market in Australia for ranga women with KFC appearance, speak with a retarded drawl and walk like a man...maybe in Thailand, but not in Aus!
As for Tim, well that could be a different story. |
Yeah....I know that we shouldn't comment on appearances and should look at the policies and abilities but.......anyone catch the footage of the ball in Canberra? If that's what she thinks she looks her best for the ball is then gawd help us. With a 1950s hairstyle and shocking red lipstick she looked like the type of woman that I would chew my arm off rather than wake her in the morning.
|
And Howard was such a stunner...:hmm::}
|
Agree, I didn't think it was her best look.
She now looks like an old woman. |
I have to agree that the latest "scandal" to come out of ADFA led me to think, "here we go again - predictable".
They'll trot out something like this every four or five days - more frequently if the meedya's attention span proves to be short - until the election. The Defence Force is an easy target, for the young men and women used as cannon fodder (no pun intended) for McTernan's spin machine do not have the easy access to the meedya to clear their names that civilians have. How low McT's spin machine will go attempting to maintain the distractions remains to be seen. ---- cactusjack, the journo who wrote the Julia Caesar piece has been reading the Middle East thread here on Pprune. It bore a distinct resemblance to The Caravan saga. |

Just to clarify, Army and Air Force studes at ADFA are Officer "Cadets", Navy studes are Midshipmen. I wonder if they are displaying any behaviour that you would not find at a standard University. |

Thanks, I jut re read what I had written, hands working faster than brain ! I should have got that correct considering I was at one stage a cadet ! |
Meanwhile ...I just read that that IMAs are averaging 75 a day now.that 2250 a month!! Things are really out of control ( as if we did not know that) .
But..as long as we keep the spin on the Army and Navy cadets, I'm sure no one will notice:ugh: |
Yup, three boats since Wednesday, one with only three pax (the other two 67 and 40). The three pax one must have been the business class boat. (Most probably some relatively wealthy Arab who didn't want his womenfolk having to share a crowed deck on a fishing boat with men not of the immediate family. I think that particular boat also made it direct to Darwin, thereby ducking the delay at Chrissie Island.)
I also heard today that families are being moved from Manus Island to Oz, as the facilities there are unsuitable for families. (Therefore, future hopefuls will be o bring a wife or children with them to get the immediate free pass to the mainland.) And... (you couldn't make this up) - the government announced today that people held at Manus Island and Nauru will be 'rotated' with people released into the community in Australia on bridging visas - who, after living in the community, will be sent back to spend a bit of 'hard' time on Manus or Nauru. (This is apparently to share out the 'hard' time on the islands more equitably.) As I said, you couldn't make this up. |
They are going to rotate them??? You are bloody kidding me:mad: If there was any evidence needed that this government is completly out of ideas and out of its depth, that has to be it!
|
Funny how the families seem to be quite happy to live in holes
OS but the lefties determine that Manus Island isn't quite up to scratch ? OK, it' not 5 star Hilton but it's safe, secure, tropical, what more could you ask for ? |
They are going to rotate them??? You are bloody kidding me |
Bob Carr, in today's 'Australian' (surprisingly) saying that the current refugee convention is outdated, that Australia cannot continue to be a haven for middle class Sri Lankans, Iranians and anyone else who CHOOSES to bypass normal immigration procedures to self-select Australia as a more pleasant place to live than their own countries.

Dunno how we is going to live it down. Down at the greasy spoon today the pommy bugger pointed out to me that:
Great Britain got Margaret Thatcher. New Zealand got Helen Clark. Australia got... embarrassed..:\ . |
Saltie
That is the first sensible thing this Gov't has aid in over 2 years ! Well done Carr :ok: Flying B The Pom was 100% correct. |
If Bob Carr & the rest of those clowns have genuinely just figured this out, then they are simply a disgrace!
