I ran out of cream cheese so I smeared strawberry jam on my bagel this morning - perhaps I should have just had carrot cake instead

The bones of two Dilophosaurus’ were found in the Navajo country in 1940, but it was not until the summer of 1942 that the bones were retrieved by a palaeontologist and taken to be cleaned. It took three men two years to clean and prepare the skeletons and mount them.

I think posts on mounting skeletons should be restricted to the necrophilia forum.

One wonders where singaporegirl has got to.

They seek her there, they seek her here,
they even seek her thither,
If singaporegirl don't post here soon
They'll have to drag the river.

Hee hee, Drapes int lost the gift.

West Sussex cops capital spend on vehicles last year was £2,245,000 (it says here) plus £8,214,000 running costs. No wonder we rarely see any then.

In my day the constabulary managed to apprehend miscreants with a bicycle and a whistle, the peelers had the whistles and bicycles that is,not the miscreants.
Once they heard the rattle of bicycle wheels on cobbles and the toot of a whistle behind them they stopped ,dropped their bags with swag written on them, flung up their hands and shouted
"Its a fair cop guv"

There is a family story that my long-departed uncle - a very proper person - received a speeding ticket from a bicycle-mounted cop. My uncle was driving a car.

That would have been in Washington DC, in the early 1920s, when the city speed limit was 15 mph - later raised to 22 mph. Higher than that these days,
