I put a phrase into BabelFish....translated it into French, then back into English. When it came back it was not as I had originally entered it...

Like a carpet with long hairs?
I would say try to guess my original phrase...but...well...that game would be over far too quickly as it's probably incredibly obvious to you all.

Were it not for fear of the wrath of Flaps, I would expand on this obvious oppertunity for an innuendo fest.

With the current fashion for thongs (which I recall has been extensively discussed on this forum in the past), where would you put the pockets, Mr Draper?

I have avoided putting anything in this thread for some time, however finally have found something so mind numbingly pointless, that I could not resist the temptation

The squiggly piece of metal which secures a railway line to a sleeper is known as a 'Pandrol Clip'.

Zut Alors! I got eighteen spam emails this morning offering me a solution to spam emails. They only wanted my credit card number, my bank details, my NI number and all my passwords. For that, they guarantee that I won't be troubled again.

Phew! Peace at last.

And in July of 2002 Iraq was looking to buy 12 million Pandrol Clips on the open market. Didn't know they had a train system in Iraq, maybe it was just for transporting missiles around the country

In his anxiety to have a few words with a moggy sat in the middle of our path, this afternoon, small white hound turned round and bit straight through his leader, fortunately said moggy noticed this occurance and decamped at a high rate of knots,
This will be the forth leader small hound has chomped through in a single bite, he is getting quite good at it.

Interesting snippet on telly last night,
After the execution by beheading of Charles 1st, Cromwell ordered the head to be sown back on,but it was to late, the king was dead.

Shouldn't that be Deheading rather than Beheading?

In 1 hour precisely I'm off to IKEA.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a tool for attaching button's or head's with minimal fuss.

Guess who I've just noticed is browsing this forum...

Leader? The Geordies have strange names for things. Perhaps it is due to radiation from the bagpipe museum at Newcastle. Out here in the civilized world the thing with a dog on one end and a person on the other is called a leash.

We do not use the word leash up here dunno why, we just don't, hounds are led around on leaders or leads,(pronounced leeds)up here.
Our Rugby player is back home now, he gave all them feckers from the press the slip, prolly sitting in front of a plate of black pud and stotty cake as we speak, he is prolly wicked off with the sissy food they eat in Oz and down the smoke, small wonder all those antipodeans and southeners are turning fruit.

Yes, the sissy food's fine out here...so's the air, the weather, the humans with pockets in their nickers, the beer, the space, the people, the economy, etc, etc....

My I'd like to fish around for loose change in those...errr...you know. Perhaps, for the thongs, you could install a pen holder, instead of a pocket? Maybe you could invent radio knickers & the aerial could be in the thong with the tuner....never mind.

Drapes - Jonny is a SUVVERNER mate Educated in 'ampshire - just happens to play his rugger up in your neck of the woods because of the coaching etc.

I expect Brunel was as well - you lot will adopt anyone successful if he casts a glance in your direction.

Well the stotty cake and the black pudding was prolly the main attraction for him, truth to tell, I did not even know we played that southern sissy game up here.
Its mainly quoits whippets and footy up here, and dominos of course.
