Mister Drapes

I am quite surprised that you show such knowledge about a French mathematician of the early 19th century.

Are mathematics or history some sort of secret pastime of yours ?

Seacue

may I humbly correct you, the french ciggies (dare we still use the term f*gs) are Gauloises

I plead guilty as charged for not doing my homework. Not being a smoker, I had let the proper spelling escape me. Bad.

Err, not really Bre901,one cannot claim that, one suffers from insomnia occasionaly and watched a open university program about Mr Galois not so long ago, twas broadcast at 3am as one recals, foolish young man, what he might have achieved had he not become embroiled in politics, although saying that he achieved more than most.

Blue skies are only a short drive south Mr Draper....tis' sunny down here in Yorkshire.

BFU I can't even hazard a guess at what your implying, but the plan was to go for a run first thing...kick start the day etc BUT I've still got a weeping blister from last weekend so that was my other reason for not bothering....that and the fact that my bed is soooooo comfy at 6.15am

70F....whats that in new money?

TC...can only relate to temps in terms of degrees C...not F.

Returning to the London Underground, the escalators carry passengers at a top speed of 145 feet per minute. Under the British Standard specification they could run at 160 feet per minute but trials showed that at that speed so many people pause timidly that fewer are carried.

topcat - I'm not even going to try to guess where the blister is

Just back from a couple of pints of Shepherd Neames' finest followed by a pukka meat curry in the Halal Restaurant (established 1939 - good year to start a business in London's East End! (not )) Wonderful day in London and it's around 21C for those who don't understand proper temp scales

The Mongol conqueror Timur the Lame (1336-1405), played polo with the skulls of those he had killed in battle. Timur left record of his victories by erecting 30-foot-high pyramids made of the severed heads of his victims. Those were the days.

I discovered a sticker inside my car engine last night. It says that the timing belt was changed Jan 02 at 45,000 miles. Next change due by 95,000 miles.

I concede defeat to ya Mr Draper. You are indeed a sly, cunning and very clever fellow to have kept this thread moving along for so long. Fair play, I have been beaten by a most worthy opponent!

BTW, I'll have a P please, just to bring the tone down a bit
