Prepaid Virtual Credit card - getting cash out?

My contact lens contract supplies me lenses, lens cases and cleaning solutions through the post at appropriate intervals. A couple of months back they sent me, out of the blue, a bottle of cleaning solution of a different type to my regular supply This was followed up with a letter explaining that the normal solution has been found to be deficient in protecting against some yeast infections and the new solution is to be used until a more permanent alternative is supplied. Additionally, any of the original solution I have in use/left in un-opened bottles must be poured away, a refund will be organised at a later date. Keep the empty bottles to show how many to claim refund for.

Some while later the instructions for the refund claim came and I followed the instructions and qualified for 6 bottles worth some 18.00. Now I find that the refund is going to be supplied in the form of a Pre-credited Virtual Credit Card?

Apparently, it can be used for over the phone and on line transactions. Obviously I can't toddle along to a cashpoint (ATM) and draw the money. I can't figure out how to arrange to spend exactly 18.00 in an on line purchase, I don't buy much on line in general and things never add up to a round pound value.

So, is there a way to get the cash back from the virtual card?

I know it is not a big sum but the principal seems a bit of a poor way of returning cash which was taken from my bank account by DD.

Can you use it via Google/Apple pay?

You used to be able to charge Revolut with a credit card. I laundered well over 100,000 until they got wise, now I think there's a 1% fee.

Use it to put credit onto a real card.

Buy something at a store, and put 18 pounds in via their terminal (punch in the numbers etc) and pay the rest in your usual fashion. I did that to use up a credit on a virtual card, quite simple.
