Well, it sure as hell won’t be me. My heart was racing just watching it.

"Nicole Smith-Ludvik during the filming of the Emirates commercial atop Burj Khalifa.

Gulf Today, Staff Reporter

Emirates is known for its bold advertising and groundbreaking creativity, but its latest ad surpasses all previous ads.featuring a fully dressed female flight attendant standing firmly and confidently atop the Burj Khalifa at 828 metres above the ground.

Emirates had invited the female flight attendants to run for the championship in this advertisement, and although there were some enthusiastic and capable female candidates, but Emirates preferred the option of using a professional skydiving expert to ensure the highest levels of safety and security."

Call me an old curmudgeonly cynic, but...wouldn't it be safer and more straightforward to use CGI for this? Dare I suggest that it perhaps was used?

You can suggest it, but you'd be wrong.

What do an Emirates Cabin Crew, Tom Cruise and the Crown Prince of Dubai have in common?

I'm sure they could have used CGI and got just as convincing a result.

CGI might be straightforward, but it's quite pricey; this way they get the publicity from the 'how-to' film as well.

I'm not sure that this "macho" ad might attract more customers... I would be frightened by the risk levels that those people challenge... just heard rumours that a far east airline might respond trying to send a cabin crew on a Chinese satellite...

Is the new Emirates tagline going to be:

Emirates -

Don't.

Look.

Down.
