Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds wed in secret Bank Holiday ceremony at Westminster Catholic Cathedral
Boris Johnson married girlfriend Carrie Symonds in a secret ceremony this morning, the Mail on Sunday can reveal.
Mr Johnson, 56, exchanged vows with Ms Symonds, 33, in Catholic Westminster Cathedral in front of a handful of close friends and family - becoming the first Prime Minister to marry in office since Lord Liverpool married Mary Chester in 1822.
It comes just six days after the couple - who became engaged in December 2019 and have baby Wilfred, aged one - sent out save-the-date cards to guests telling them to keep Saturday, July 30, 2022 free for a marriage celebration.
One guest at today's wedding told the MoS: 'You are not barking up the wrong tree. The couple will be making an announcement shortly'.
The ceremony's 30-person guestlist is still under lock and key, but the PM's father Stanley Johnson was seen smiling outside No.10 this afternoon.
All guests were invited at the last minute, and only a handful of church officials were involved. Even No.10 aides were kept in the dark, sources claim.
The ceremony was officiated by Father Daniel Humphries. He baptised the couple's one-year-old son Wilfred last year and gave them their pre-marriage instructions.
The church was cleared out shortly after 1.30pm today with staff informing visitors of a sudden lockdown. The bride - who opted not to wear a veil - stepped out of a limo around 30 minutes later in a long, white dress……

At last he made an honest woman of her. But can she make an honest man of him?
Wasn't it mooted that they were getting married next year? Seems like an attempt at deflection from the Cummings story.

Not forgetting, that, when Boris is involved, it's never wise to take anything he says, or does, at face value so it's reasonable to assume there are other reasons as to why this event was suddenly brought forward.

A little odd after save the date cards sent out for a day in July initially, then a rushed "quicky" in late May. I wonder what might have caused the change. What is due to happen which caused this apparent rush to the altar again for Bojo ? Could it be a case of smoke and mirrors again, due to some more bad news coming soon. I wonder if this will be the last Mrs Johnson ??
Cheers

Apparently a Super Injunction has been in place for a while.
Not sure how that stopped the papers catching on and having photographers outside though.
