Jim Steinman..."like a Bat outa Hell "

As others who have passed have been mentioned, the latest addition to the list.

A truly brilliant composer and writer as well as being, according to various documentaries, a "complex " character ....no matter, "Bat out of Hell " is one of the classical albums and his legacy will always remain thanks to Meatloaf....

A truly great album.
I lived in a terraced townhouse when it came out.
Due to the Leak 2060s, lead lined and etc., both the neighbours became familiar with all the tracks on that album.

Steinman wrote songs full of love, hate, passion, tenderness, lust, fire, want, need and desperation.
Meatloaf sang them as though the lives of his wife and kids depended on it.

RIP Jim and thank you.

I remember hearing Bat Out of Hell on the John Peel show, late one night at Lossie. Went into Elgin the next day and bought the album. Can't remember how much it cost, but it was money well spent.

I bought the LP, and then later on, bought the CD as well.
For some stupid reason I eventually gave the LP away - idiot!

If you can find it, check out Pandoraís Box. It was a group put together by Jim, comprised of girls that he had used on other records as back up vocals. They made one Album called Original Sin, I think itís great.

I hated Bat Out Of Hell😂 The main reason was the lad in the next bed to me (I had to read that phrase several times before posting), played it during every free moment when we were in the block. He never did complete his course...
