Betfred Andrew Green Winner!!!

Andrew Green from Lincoln has finally got his 1.7 million winnings owned to him from Betfred! With a three year legal battle with Bretfred who claimed his winnings was an error due to a glitch on the system, even when they had already told he had won.

Hope this is a message for other bookmakers etc who think they can get away of not paying out!!

And rightly too.

The fact they offered him 60K if he would keep quiet about it stunk, I’d award him for the stress he has had to stand through all of this too, because at the end of the day, bar the court costs they are still just paying out what they would have, plus the interest that they had been pocketing over those three years. Let’s hope it costs them financially.

They tried it on, pure and simple. Most people would have taken the 60k and run. Good luck to him.

I feel rather sorry for BetFred, seeing how little profit they have been making.

I believe the starting point for interest on a claim won in court is around 8%. Certainly that is what a friend of mine's lawyer has put in her court documents.

Just because he won in court doesn't mean Betfred will pay out; like insurance companies do they'll try to find a loophole in the ruling which allows them to either avoid it or delay it indefinitely.
Standby for an appeal against the ruling for a start.

From https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-56663830 :"A Betfred spokesperson said: "Mr Green won the jackpot three times whilst playing a game provided by one of our third-party suppliers.

"The supplier reported a software problem to us and advised that we should withhold payment.

"However, we will abide by the court's decision and not appeal. We would like to apologise to Mr Green for the delay in receiving his money."

Have any of the supplier's mistakes caused punters to lose more than they should? Would anyone ever have known? Would Betfred have insisted on paying their money back?

My Grandfather's advice to me. You never see a bookie on a pushbike.

Get a degree in statistics. 1.000.000,000 isn't bad for four years work.

Betfred CEO Denise Coates salary 323 million + 45m in dividends.
I put bookies in the same category as drug dealers.

Errr.... Ms Coates is CEO of Bet365... and she's pulling in over 400 million a year. I'm glad that I have never contributed to her obscene salary.
