Macadamia is a genus of four species of trees indigenous to Australia is what I was referring to Hok. Hawaii introduced the seeds in the 1880's and became the worlds largest producer, a position taken over by South Africa in 2010's.

I've read through that article twice and I cannot see very much in what has been quoted from his blog that I would disagree with, I am sure many people would feel the same way. Nevertheless as a teacher he is apparently denied free speech and has been prevented from carrying out his job. So far as I can see he has not been a substandard teacher, hasn't molested or assaulted pupils, all he has done is pointed out what is wrong with the stupid American import of "high school proms", in particular the put pressure on less well off parents to spend money they can't afford, or borrow money they don't need to to ensure their son or daughter "looks the best" in something akin to a cattle market.Join Date: Sep 2006

Assuming the report is correct, I can't say I'm at all surprised he's been disciplined. Whatever his opinion of 'proms' he's shown extremely poor judgement in publishing publicly his contempt and disdain for the school, his boss, the parents and the children he is supposed to be teaching and encouraging.
I'm pretty sure a commercial organisation in any other industry would not consider that sort of behaviour acceptable.
And comparing children at the school where he works to "Eastern European prostitutes' ? In what way is that appropriate?
Free speech and all that, fine. But that doesn't mean 'no consequences'.
(Incidentally, I am no big fan of school proms, I was quite happy with the end-of-year disco in the school hall when I was a kid, although I can't dance in any recognisable manner).
