Darwin 2021 Awards.

And the first contender, albeit in a secondary category, but trying hard, I feel we would all agree when you involve Aussie NT crocs is.......

Some people near me may qualify for a honourable mention after inadvertently torching their house at the weekend by burning household rubbish on the wooden decking outside their back door. The cause is now disputed but I gather was promulgated by the fire brigade.

" There's no business like show business " as the song goes..so what better way to encourage contenders than a spot of, lights, camera !....but thankfully, this time, no action.

It's the wording of the question that suggests those doing the promotion are clinically brain dead already....

Designed to fire shot but probably caused the other to come out of an orifice somewhere on the operator's torso.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goi%C3%A2nia_accident Apologies as this is not 2021, but I stumbled on it a few days ago. Quite shocking really " Alves succeeded in puncturing the capsule's aperture window with a screwdriver, allowing him to see a deep blue light coming from the tiny opening he had created.[1] He inserted the screwdriver and successfully scooped out some of the glowing substance"

I still have an old 12 bore, Damascus Twist, double barrel with hammers that I used to use when I was barely old enough to have a licence for it.

I have no intention of trying to fire anything from it as I imagine it would likely end up like the gent in the video.

I had thought of using it with blanks from the Committee Boat for our races but thought better of it.
It was on the wall over the fireplace in our last house. Safest place for it.

I too have one of those. Beautiful gun and I have now had it for about 60 years. A few years ago, realising that it could be dangerous in the wrong hands, I de-activated it and obtained a certificate from the Birmingham Gun House so that it could be removed from my licence. I will probably sell it as an ornament.

Thanks for that Yotty. A very interesting article and it is quite scary how much damage can be done from a small amount of radioactive material used for medical purposes.
