Men are excluded from many womens’ groups for entirely appropriate reasons

I’m not sure everyone on here would agree with you though.
I sincerely hope that is so. It would be a rather short-lived discussion forum if everybody agreed !
WB627 - as I have posted in the Computer/Internet forum, (without any remedy), following a deletion of Adobe Flash, I am no longer able to see any video input, so am unable to comment on your post.
I assume you will bear the disappointment with manful fortitude !

From the video I get the inference that you two love to argue meaningless points, similar to me wife and I

Fell about at one of the Beeb's re-runs of Top hits of the 70's. Kinks playing "Lola"............says it all, actually......... Loved some of the words ; "Boys will be boys & girls will be girls", and "She looked like a girl but spoke like a man". and he goes up to some chic to ask for a dance , asking her name, she "replied in a dark-brown voice- Ell, O, ell, A ,...Lola". Thank you all, for the clarification.
If I correctly understand the inference, there appears to be a number of contributors who feel that contesting other people's views has no place in a discussion forum. ????; that we should politely applaudthe OP's post and move on to the next (non-contentious) item. ... how very quaint!
I suppose that, given a large dose of imagination, one could visualise the Greeks and Romans (and similar societies) constructing their grandiose debating facilities in order to assemble their most eloquent thinkers and speakers to allow them to sit and self-congratulate on each other's perspicacity ! ... Perhaps NOT !
In the years during which I have watched, read and observed PPRuNe, and particularly JB interactions, there are a solid 'core' of members whose self-conceit drives them to the belief that anyone who disagrees with their views must be a raving, lunatic, red-flag-waving Trotsky Pinko, bent on destroying their cosy established life-style. Undoubtedly, a possibility, but given just a modicum of intellect, it could be argued (yes, that word again!), that resolution of contentious areas is best accomplished by examining both sides ... something, it appears, not universally accepted here.
For myself, I find the cut and thrust quite invigorating and welcome the responses generated, even the silly insults, since it does, at least, indicate that the post has been noted, even if not read or understood.
As to my own content it is, inarguably (and never contested) in the hands of the Mods ... and god bless them for their patience !!!

OK I'll stick my head above the parapet and ignore any incoming......
Mostly the discussion and arguments that occur on JB, do so with a reasonable level of respect for the combatants and at a reasonably acceptable intellectual level. However, occasionally the standard on some threads falls to that of a Monty Python sketch and IMHO this is one of them.
It's not about contesting opposing views, that is what JB is largely about, but how you do it.
From post#1 this thread was never going to end well.

Many years ago, I used to be responsible in a big Corp for the recruitment of Engineering grads. We recruited about 100 per annum, a lot from the better sorts of Uni.
We recruited lots of Female Engineering graduates...................Because we tried to.
We set out to recruit more than our fair share of female Eng grads. We put effort and money in to it. We were good at it. We competed with the best of other recruiters, such as Bain and other Yank corporates.
At that point in time, the classic Brit Engineering Co.s, Like BL, BAe (or whatever they were called back then) just did not try.
So if the big employers of Eng grads just did not try - then there won't be many females in the industry.

- Did you passover more qualified males to get to the female?
- Wouldn’t offering superior pay/work rules attract the best of both sexes?

CJ; Excellent post. See how quickly you were rounded on by one of the "Solid Core"....................? Quick exhortation on how one should conduct oneself within the forums too ! Yet the same lot refer to opposing viewers as "Gobby shites" and continue to recommend things like "stocks" outside superstores. Really laughable eh ? Apologies for the drift but if you scroll down a number of other forums, the same "solid lot" are appearing with increasing frequency. Interesting.

59 posts and no mention of women drivers?
That would bring us on to the topic of cars and motoring. Many threads drift on to cars and motoring. It's about time this one did.
Landflap, you realise the "stocks outside supermarkets" was tongue in cheek don't you?
