Make more babies and die before 80

Turns out this family planning and wanting to live long malark is going to be the end of our species, both physically and socially. Who would've thought that?

Not at all. Massively fewer people on the planet would be wonderful for the quality of life of all humans.

It's just the transition period that will be tough. If it's too rapid or geographically uneven it will be difficult.

geographically uneven it will be difficult.
The figures suggest many European countries will face large reductions whereas a few African countries will continue their growth.
This will increase migration over the long term and will need to be addressed - by that I mean allowed in some form or another.

Social democracy leading to fast breeders taking over the world and conscientious, responsible families being bred out of the future - something that various world religions are well aware of when encouraging their adherents to go forth and multiply.

Nope. The current trend simply supports the well established observation that increased health, education, food security lead to smaller families (and reduced influence of religions). That is the assumption underlying the development agenda and it seems to be well supported by evidence.

Obviously doesn't consider the growth in African countries moving to European countries thus equalling things out.

Interbreeding - Generally yes. It can refresh the gene poll and introduce hybrid vigor (heterosis). Of course, one can breed without marriage, or marry and not breed.

As to the original question, this is the key paragraph:

Who pays tax in a massively aged world? Who pays for healthcare for the elderly? Who looks after the elderly? Will people still be able to retire from work?

Do you think that anyone has passed the details on to Johnson and his sidekick, R-M?

Capitalism and social democracy are both Ponzi schemes.

The only report I have seen on this compared Somali families in London with Somalia , and the London families were having more babies.

This is not necessarily a bad news story; the issue of who looks after the elderly presumes that old people are ill and infirm. In fact mostly, people are staying healthier for longer. It will become an imperative to extend snd improve this trend.

Hence the change in China's one child policy when it was realised that it meant one wage supporting 6 people.

Well I am good for one but not the other. Despite having kept my looks and figure time has taken its toll.

That depends whether you believe Angola, Niger and Mali are “taking over the world” Dan Dare. If they’re conscientious responsible FAMILIES then by definition they’re not breeding themselves out of the future. But it’s a fact that falling birthrates go with increasing wealth and education; many of my own circle of friends have chosen not to have children.

Those countries may not be taking over the world, but their peoples might. Those seeing an overpopulated world and doing their bit are not going to be the ancestors (genetically or ideologically) of the future. You don’t have to look far to see Idiocracy playing out today never mind in the future. If ShotOne and their circle of friends pays for an Angolan to enjoy a free breeding programme in the U.K. rather than providing their own line of succession who is going to be making the democratic choices in 50 years time? It won’t be the children of communities with increasing wealth and education.

Fewer than 50% of my close friends have had children - nor me - and of those, most only have had one. On the other hand my four brothers and sisters each have two and my nephews and nieces are already doing a good job of procreating at the same rate...

Is Roman Catholicism 'social democracy'?
