Another pronunciation one.

Why do so many people pronounce 'kilometre' as 'kilommetre'?
It's kilo-metre just like kilo-gram or kilo-hertz or kilo-byte or kilo-anything else.

Killo-meter? Ki-lommita? Kee-la'-midd'r?

From our Wiki friend: The kilometre (SI symbol: km; /ˈkɪləmiːtər/ or /kɪˈlɒmɪtər/), spelt kilometer in American English

PS How is your Hiroshima?

Collins, so it must be right - both of them. But then, they spell spacetime with a hyphen, which only a silly-billy would do.

I believe it is down to the french pronunciation of “metre” just like many others words in the English language that have a root in french.

Then some others take the french derived word and just pronounce it like the American version “meter”
