I agree if you're referring to "our guy" as Biden. Let Trump and his closest associates whine away; it makes them look worse every day. They don't need any more assistance. But then there is no reason to call them "conservacucks". That attitude just gets us back into the worst behavior of the last four years and it's time to change that for the better.

It leaves one wondering how many people are still doing it. The assurances given leave no assurance that this couldn't have happened again. I was criticising the assurances - they lack the detail to assure. Was Dowless unlucky to be caught, just careless, or was he lucky to have formerly got away with it in 2016?

Now Trump has gone, let's regain a bit of sanity on both sides.

Well I just got back from Saturday shopping and ran smack dab into loud madly cheering crowds with Trump signs lining both sides of 4 lane highway at a major intersection I was driving so I didn't bother reading their signs but unlike my wife they were waving hands at me with open palms. I did all I could to stop her from giving them her middle finger, saying it would probably be on our nightly news and embarrassing to both of us.
I commentrd to my wife that some of the signs said "Trump 2020".which I thought the election was over and the sign would make more sense if it said Trump 2024 to PO Marco Rubio

I think that debate was the turning point, when enough Americans who may have had doubts about Biden’s ability saw him perform reasonably well and therefore made the decision to cast their vote his way.

You do realise if the Democrats do what Maher and a lot of others say they should do, then they’ll embrace and enact “far left economic socialist” programs like Medicare for all, Free College, a Green New Deal, paid Vacation and Family Leave etc?

Oh my goodness, that would mean the common man would begin to reap more life benefits from the system they work their entire lives in.
That would mean somewhat less profit would go up to the top of the trickle down stream headwaters.
How could they possibly stand for that?

Obama ticked all the woke boxes, but his actual achievements were limited. And let’s not pretend that Biden has anywhere near the promise and moral capital that Obama had.
Both the Republicans and the Dems need to be asking themselves how US politics has sunk so low.

Lyrics from an old song from Reagan era but points raised still seem relevant.
America for beginners - Latin Quarter
What's keeping the White House white
Is it chalk, is it fog, is it fear?
Are they staying up most of the night
And sending somebody out for a beer?
Is it bed-time for Bonzo?
Is it time for a change?
Is it flavour-free TV dinners?
It's a hard thing to take, when they make a mistake
America for Beginner.
The sound of a bell with a crack
Even the swingers are swinging right
The vigilantes are on the way back
With prime-time "fight the good fight".
What a start to a day
It starts three times with a "K"
There's no sponsored hour for sinners
They'II bring back the hot seat
And turn up the heat
America for Beginners.
That's America for Beginners.
You wear designer jeans after dark
And your shirts are sharp-cut in satin
But won't you watch out for Central Park
And…
You wear designer jeans after dark
And your shirts are sharp-cut in satin
But won't you watch out for Central Park
And apartments in uptown Manhattan.
It's a sign of the times
Better stay out in front
Because they've only got time for the winners.
Just keep living for fun, you son of a gun
America for Beginners.
Everywhere there's stripes and stars
Men in dark suits in unmarked cars
Sipping Jack Daniels in Third World bars
They're close to the edge,
They're as close as you can get.
Cheers
Mr Mac

Some Americans have an extremely warped sense of reality, and are seemingly incapable of introducing just a smidgen of nuance into their reasoning. The most common mistake, it seems, is their inability to differentiate between socialism and a social democracy. But, then again, most of them can't distinguish between communism and socialism either. They're also incredibly short-sighted, or stupid if you will, looking only on their tax percentage being relatively low, but fail to add the cost of health insurance, education, lack of paid vacation and family (maternity) leave. If you add the cumulative cost of those items to the taxes they pay, they're either nowhere better or worse off, than people living in societies where all that is paid directly via taxes.
Then again, none of this should come as a surprise when 70 million of them chose to cast their vote for the Orange Panda. That, more than anything, tells you all about the stupidness of a very large proportion of the American electorate.

The Difference Between Republicans and Democrats
A young man, down on his luck, was hitch-hiking through New England. A well-dressed man driving a Lincoln pulled up, lowered the passenger side window, and asked, “Do you vote Republican or Democrat?”
“Democrat,” said the hitch-hiker. And the Lincoln sped off in a cloud of dust.
The next car that pulled up was a Mercedes and the same question was asked. Once again the driver sped away, leaving him beside the road.
He plodded on until a beautiful woman stopped her Mustang GT and, predictably, asked about his politics.
In desperation the young man said, “I’m a Republican.”
The woman welcomed him aboard, and they sped off down the road.
She was gorgeous. She had the face of a goddess, eyes the colour of the sea on a sunny day, golden hair, and legs so beautiful that he couldn’t take his eyes off them as her feet moved on the pedals.
They hadn’t gone very far when he said, “Stop the car. I want to walk.”
“Why?” she asked.
“I’ve been a Republican for ten minutes and already I want to screw somebody.”
