Using the track record of futurists as a base line, things will return to full capacity sooner than the end of the year. I've never seen one even come close to accurately making a prediction.

I wonder what happens in his head if we never actually develop a vaccine?

Interesting comment, that last sentence, the worlds boffins have yet to find a vaccine for any variant of Coronavirus, though admittedly this latest one has attracted significantly more resources than all the others put together.

I imagine we all will be looking at higher taxes to cover the gaping new budgetary shortfalls and recovery from all that had been spent and borrowed during the crisis.
And I will remember that new taxes are very rarely withdrawn as time goes on.

Financial compensation must be paid and I will continue to press (in my little way) for damages and reparations from China for their creation of the source problem.....not for the first time.
They have enjoyed a long running economic boom but seriously screwed up along the way and have now damaged the entire world. Law says "you cause damages - you pay for them"
There must be a just penalty paid for this incompetence and it can be paid from their overflowing coffers. Maybe selloff some foreign real estate, international stocks and bonds.
Developing nation - my arse. Just how many major airlines do they have again? Maglev train lines? Skyscraper landscapes?

Drive on these lovely quiet roads to W.H.Smith and browse the aviation magazines
That simple pleasure, at least the last part, most likely won't be available in the near future due to contamination risk. "You've touched it, you've bought it". Perhaps the magazine publisher will have an online preview so as to allow the customers to see ahead of time if they want to make the jump of purchase ?

What about the magazines in the sealed plastic bags - anti-browsing precaution!

I think a trip to London Zoo would be good. You know the form, three hours of declining enthusiasm then a train ride home whining about the specimens of humanity I have just witnessed and the ruinous
cost of it all. Still, would be a welcome change of scene and target.

Motorcycle touring around Europe, including racing up and down the Stelvio pass like 10 times a day for 3 days, likewise at other similarly spectacular places, e.g. the Dolomites..

Go on three ski holidays every winter.

Since I will probably be working from home rest of my professional life, can just as well do so from Toscana or Piemonte.

Take an aerobatic course.

Almost all of above will include the enjoyment of ample amounts of very good red wines ;-)
