Unbecoming? He was a sex offender.

Yeah. I’m sorry, I’m being polite. I mean in the sense that he was a sex offender.”

I am sure the normal reaction from a normal person on discovering their friend was a sex offender/child abuser would be to completely condemn them, and then publicly to ask themselves why they didn't spot it.

Years ago I worked with someone (this chap: https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/ex...rges-1-1254576 ) who seemed a very nice bloke. He was charged with multiple sex offences against young boys, and at the time I just didn't believe it. It seemed to me to be completely out of character, all the more so because he was married with two young children.

I was totally wrong about him, he fooled me, and others, very, very convincingly as he was found guilty, with a raft of compelling evidence to show he had abused boys over a period of time. He's probably out of prison now, but if I saw him in the street I'd cross the road to avoid him, not just because of what he's done, but because the bastard managed to fool so many people (pretty much everyone at work thought he was innocent, not just me). There's no way I would go out of my way to speak with him, or meet him, I'd just ignore him.

And now KPMG and Standard Chartered Bank have cut their ties with Andrew’s business mentoring company.

Copied and pasted from a BBC new report this evening:

In addition to Standard Chartered's announcement:
  • Accountancy firm KPMG has said it would not be renewing its support of [email protected]
  • Pharmaceuticals company AstraZeneca and Hult International Business School are reviewing their partnerships with the business scheme
  • Outward Bound, the charity the Duke of Edinburgh was patron of for 65 years, has called a board meeting to discuss the prince's patronage
  • London Metropolitan University said it will consider the prince's role as its patron, saying it "opposes all forms of discrimination, abuse and human trafficking"
  • University of Huddersfield students are calling for the prince to be sacked as their chancellor
On Monday, the Huddersfield students' union panel passed a motion to lobby the prince to resign as their chancellor.

Last time there was a bit of a kerfuffle involving said family members, said member was duly plonked in the Bahamas ,,,

With this precedent in mind, surely Governor of the Chagos Islands can only be a matter of time........
