A new low .... in reporting

Following diversion of Qatar flight QTR908 to Perth for technical reasons, our local rag gave a headline report that included :-

ER doctor Danny said there was a mad rush for passengers on Qatar Airways flight QTR 908 to contact loved ones on Friday afternoon when told of “technical issues” mid-flight.
“Before they announced there was an issue, I did notice something was wrong,” he said. “I saw the sink in the toilets wasn’t draining … and other passengers said the toilets were blocked.”
The report goes on to detail the panic that ensued when an PA announcement was made.

Danny said passengers were told over the intercom to “not be alarmed” when they saw something drop off the wing of the aircraft, as it was “just fuel to lighten the aircraft for landing”.
“That’s when everyone started to panic,” he said.
I'm glad he's not doing my vasectomy.

And today's failed politicians are tomorrow's journos. Political advisor Nick Timothy seems to have acquired a small but cushy berth at the Telegraph since his ill-considered advice to the PM. Not that I'd bother with his ramblings...

I know the Daily Mail is an easy target but this report has so many errors and contradictions I don't know where to start...

You do realise that this standard of reporting will probably result in them being sued for breach of intellectual copyright by the Mail and Excess here in the UK !

That said, a former local rag once blasted the front page with "Man almost drowns in canal ! "......erm, he actually tripped and fell into about 6ins of water at the disused basin and, strangely, did not require the attendance of the emergency services as he got up himself and walked home.....this bit being helpfully contained in the last paragraph at the time.
