On the subject of cartoons, does anyone remember Wacky Races? One of the characters in that had the world's best comedy name in my opinion: Professor Pat Pending. Wacky Races had two spin-offs: The Perils of Penelope Pitstop and Catch the Pigeon. Yonks ago at a bike rally in County Durham I saw one group with "Vulture Squadron" patches and another lot with "F Troop" patches, I expect you'd have to be 'a certain age' to get it.

Oh yes,Whacky Races used to be on at around 5PM -I think the main character was Dick Dastardly, and he had a dog called Mutley. One of the cars in the race I think was called the 'Arkensas Chugabug'.

Tom Slick was on after The Wacky Races when I was a kid.

And The Jetsons were on after The Flintstones. One "modern stone age family" and one "Space Age Family".

What I never understood about Whacky Races was that if Dick Dastardly could get so far ahead to sabotage the other competitors, why didn’t he just head to the finishing post and win anyway?

Don’t forget The Anthill Mob either.

Dear Sir,

Am I alone in wishing I could have a threesome with Wilma and Betty.

Yours,

Auxtank
Tunbridge Wells

Dear Auxtank.

I thank you for your interest in the Flintstone. I'm afraid Betty and Wilma have declined your kind offer, however, Fred and Barney would like to accept. Bring your own Lube.

Yours,

Hannah Barbera.
