BBC "News". Is that all they can do??

Over the last few days, the BBC has spent about 20 to 25 minutes of the 30 minute news broadcast on "Brexit". I guess that might be OK if they had anything to say. But they do not have anything to say. 90% of the time it is just one overpaid BBC hack interviewing another overpaid BBC hack. They pay these twerps UKP250,000 as base pay just to interview each other!! And they pay it out of our taxes.............and then if you switch to radio, they have about 4 radio stations plus lots of useless local stations using different hacks to interview another bunch of hacks.
Quite pathetic.

I quite agree. And I’ve had a gut full of Laura Kuenssberg - not really her fault, it’s just that she seems to be wheeled out on every Brexit discussion.

This BBC report, however, did catch my eye. I’m now curious as to the original description of the suspect’s genitalia and why the police felt they needed to amend it.

Not had one of the perennial anti- BBC threads for some time....sooooo.....respondents are asked to select from the following
" BBC is left wing biased ! "
"I don't pay my licence fee as I don't support socialism ! "
"BBC should be privatised ! "
" I am finding it incwedably difficult to weeplace the valves in my wireless and to turn the dials and knobs to weeceeve the Hame Sarveece ! "
" I do not understand that the BBC provides an extensive range of broadcast services ! "
" I like to join in with my chums on a website in a forum called Jet Blast where all right thinking people like me can show the world why we don't actually understand or approve of the 21st century ! "
" The BBC is staffed entirely by liberal pinko left wing Trots / Marxists / Lenists and Guardian readers ! "

Might have missed a few, but, no doubt the chaps will fill in the missing responses.

They don't pay them STG250k.
Maybe one or two presenters.
But the majority are on much less.
As I've said before - and as a former BBC employee - you bleedin' poms don't know how lucky you are having the BBC.
Look at the wreck that is OzBC - or for a real larf - the broadcaster that used to be the NZBC.
Now that is shite TV.

K & C - I commented on a Facebook thread the other day. Amusingly 95% of those posting accused the BBC of right wing bias and being an arm of the (Tory) government. About the opposite of what you reckon is happening on JB.

From which I reckon if the lefties think the BBC is a right wing plot and the Tories think it is a hot bed of pinko socialism, then I reckon they must be getting it about right.

Haha TTN - true!
On any measure of objectivity - I used to greatly enjoy watching the relish program editors would show when a BBC specific news story came up on the news agenda.
This would give them carte blanche to absolutely rip into BBC management - safe in the knowledge the editorial team couldn't be touched lest it appear there was editorial interference from Rotten Row.
If anything, the real decision makers at Aunty tend towards the slightly centre right.
Lots of cut glass accents, Wuperts and Sawahs, who have usually been to just two nice universities.
Much like the headline writers at the current bun.
Who would have thought.

TTN......alas.....here on JB the Beeb has long attracted the wrath and condemnation of many convinced the organisation is but a state sponsored outlet for all and any left wing propaganda ......which makes you wonder if they've ever actually viewed or listened to it really.

True, it does attract criticism, and I'm happy to say I've never been averse to doing so when warranted.....such as saturation coverage of state occasions, some truly "fearless Oscar nomination standard reporting on adverse weather " a fixation on London and the S.East and yep. some truly dire regional productions at times... BBC " Mindless Today " in the W.Midlands springs readily to mind here...the bulk of the presenters being outcasts from a local amateur dramatics society plus their obsession with interviewing Aston Villa supporters.....English sub-titles are not provided......and the young lady " twaffic weeporter " on Radio Derby a few months ago who could hardly contain her emotions when she gushed forth about "a sink hole has appeared in a Derby street and it's all over social meedja ! "......erm, it was a major water main burst on Alfreton road...which isn't quite the same really.

Overall though, more than happy to have the BBC as being representative of the UK as a media outlet.

Got it in one, I couldn’t have put it better. At least I can watch FOX news instead.

The Times today says that the BBC needs to save £750million.
The BBC's total spend is £5 BILLION. 3.7bn from the tax, and 1.3bn from other sources.
That is easy.
Cut all TV other than BBC1 and BBC2. Cut the BBC1 and BBC 2 budgets by 15%. Remove all Regional TV, remove CBBC etc.and relocate HQ to Stockton on Tees. Sell off all the fancy offices in London. Cut all the broadcasting in Gaelic and etc.
Cut all Radio stations other than 1,2, 3, 4 and 5. Remove all of the X stations. Remove all regional radio stations.
Reduce the internet budget by 50%
Set a maximum salary of "Prime Minister's salary plus 50%...........for everyone.

You missed out returning to black and white and 405 line broadcasting..........along with the test card. The other helpful suggestions will appeal to a JB target audience, but, thankfully not to a more receptive UK audience .

K & C - apparently there are still several thousand black and white TV licences sold annually.

I wonder if the holders are all on Jet Blast!

It also doesn't need the daytime tv schedule. That would actually be a blessing.

What is a polieman? What has Manchester to do with London? Why do we have to look at the back of him?
