Interesting that had this been a prorogue at remoaner's behest the chant would have been "sovereignty, isn't that what you voted for, naah nah na nah nah."

However as it is a "leave prorogue" the remoaniacs are just getting shriller and shriller. Soon only dogs will be able to hear them.

Thank you for reading
I don't worry about the violent ones, its the people who always vote and contribute who just see the Govt and Party they have always supported acting like this.

I'm not a dullard, but I just cannot fathom what the rich people are going to get by humping over the entire country and it's standing in the world; and making average people (the tax-payers) poorer? I know there's something- make it worthless and buy it up cheap? Is that it? Anybody hazzard a guess?

My guess would be that many more less-rich people voted to leave the EU than rich people. I can't back it up though.

Ruth Davidson has resigned as leader of the Scottish Conservatives, citing the pressures of motherhood plus policy difference with Boris Johnson.

Well I am a dullard and a simpleton and thick ( JB / RAF and elsewhere.... official ! ) so I can't answer the question posed by CG, other than to say the country and the population are not high on Boris's priorities.....Boris, and absolute autocratic power is his priority.

Now this will be bad news.

Ms Davidson is a credit to herself and to politics, same as Anna Soubrey in fact, shame both chose the wrong party of course, Not that Boris will care as he's already inserted his own stooge in Scotland......t unfortunately, she's a very popular and respected politician across all parties so the recent duty puppet could find life getting a lot more difficult when he encounters the rank and file, if they decide to stay as Tory voters that is.......

Edited to say me an ORAC's posts crossed.....delete will.....insert...... is

I see in the BBC article that it says she supported Remain and does not support a no-deal Brexit. Does this imply she would support a deal No Brexit?

It is the Queen I feel sorry for. Imagine having a nice, quiet family holiday in the beautiful surroundings when up rocks Jacob Rees Mogg!

" a transition in line with the electorates wishes !
Umm - how many of the electorate, exactly? Well we know that, don't we? ... 'cos it's been repeated ad nauseam! So let's hear it one more time - 17.4 million . Unfortunately, there were 40.8 million entitled to vote at the time and, even if you feel that the majority of the ELECTORATE can be ignored, it still leaves us in a situation where the wishes of LESS than 30% of the population are being foisted on the rest of us. While your hand wagging oaf of a 'leader' reverts to childhood by running to Mummy (HM) for support, when he can't get his own way, the MAJORITY of British citizens are being dragged into US vassalage because the witless prat lacks any logical justification.
By the way, how many electorates ... or are you a non-greengrocer?

Well, today has turned me into a republican.

I used to support the monarchy, primarily as an insurance policy, as a backstop against a constitutional coup.

We've been paying her and her family for centuries against they day they actually needed to earn their pay.

That day was today. She had one job. Ever, for the whole of her life. She blew it.

What do you do with an insurance policy that doesn't pay out when you need it to? First, you junk it, and second, these days, you claim "mis-selling" and a refund of all premiums paid.

About 60 posts on this thread alone today with the 'usual suspects' posting more than once. Win, lose or draw I just want this bickering to be over and done with.

I don't want it to end. The entertainment value of Brexit is never ending. It's an ongoing car crash of epic proportions, the best is yet to come!

Realistically it was always going to be thus....so now what? Retain the family in the manner in which they are accustomed and keep the show on the road by using the pretence that a high percentage of foreigners only come to the UK to see a real live "royal"..or ask them to clear their desks first thing in the AM and move to more suitable accommodation...

Well, she does nice tea parties, but frankly that's not enough. If she's no use for anything else it's P45 time.

Just one last post for tonight to add this tweet from Faisal Islam..

Faisal Islam‏Verified account @faisalislam 3h3 hours ago

MoreAs PM, Mr Johnson hasn’t actually won a single Commons vote, before asking and getting the Queen to suspend it ... that hasn’t happened at least post war/ in this monarch’s reign.
How's that fine idea of "Democracy", "will of the people" and "taking back control" thing working out for many of you fine folks tonight?

Comfortable with the day's events?..... left winger or right winger - be honest...any doubts? Any chance, just perhaps, that you are beginning to realise you've helped let a genie, that perhaps you cannot control, out of the bottle?

I'm not going to draw parallels with the 1930s, that has rightly been done to death already... Instead I'll leave you with a few wise words from 1863: "Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."...Well, I really hope so, but tonight I'm not so sure..
