If he'd done the environmentally responsible thing and banned cars from London whilst mayor, the terrorists would have to use bicycles, which can do rather less damage?

Before this thread descends into the usual spiral I just wanted to note how efficient and calm the police response was - impressive.

From the BBC Video, it almost looks like that there a several police vehicles in pursuit prior to the perp even crossing the white line !
Check for yourselves .

Watching the CCTV it seems an odd incident. It is almost as if he was spooked by the ambulance coming up behind on blues and twos and panicked.

I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't a terrorist act but a frightened immigrant here illegally losing his cool.

There were two armed police vans right behind him!

I also noticed two, what looks like police vans behind that followed the driver down the road, one appears to have his flashing lights on (the first one down the road), the other pulled across a white van and followed the other down the lane after turning on flashing lights.

It's possible it was a driver in a burka, put on back to front I.E., couldn't see properly. If so, it would also demonstrate the danger to all, their insistence of wearing these things..

IF (still an if) this is what the JB brotherhood assume it is, then it is surprising that the suspect isnít proclaiming his motives from the rooftops. Perhaps it isnít as simple as that....

The media reports that the owner of the car (who may or may not have been the person driving it) is someone previously known to the police.

Boris Johnson removed steel safety railings protecting pedestrians on London Bridge because they were 'ugly'.

I see Teresa May is urging us all to keep calm and carry on, why wouldn't we, after all she was the target, not us.

Lots of people are "known to the police". Me for example. The last one who recognised me (in Tesco, actually) is a deputy chief constable.
