Womens mind reading capacity

Had a visit from No1 daughter, SiL and brand new grand daughter yesterday.
Memsahib and No1 daughter were talking, and I don't think either of them started a sentence without the other one ending it.
Memsahib "Did you know......".
Daughter, Yes she got married last year"

Daughter " I've been looking at some......",
Memsahib " I was thinking about getting some some also"

How do they know what the other one is thinking/going to say? I worry that they may know what I'm thinking or going to say. Not that I've never found a long enough pause in their conversation to even try to say anything

UpaCreak, we have that too. Driving along, thinks, I fancy a steak tonight, less than one minute later she says we'll have a steak tonight

It happens so frequently that it is more normal to say you didn't get the ice cream followed by oh, I forgot

When we think of something, there is apparently, a small discharge of energy and chemicals, the stronger the thought, the stronger the energy. It is said that this is why certain animals can perceive our thoughts, especially pets who are very focused on their owner. Women, it is said, are the more emotionally aware of the two genders, that is their antenae are more sensitive and in general terms I've found this to be true. That said there are some blunt instruments among the flock! Men seem to be less so attuned, but perhaps more so in other ways, perceiving threats, situational awareness and so on. I think that when you get small groups of women who are close(related or strong friendships) they develop a type of hive mind and this is what causes the inexplicable ability to finish unfinished sentences as though they were one.

Always said if I get sent to gaol, my wife will have me out in no time. She never lets me finish a sentence.

Which is probably why the ladies are irritated by our requests for clarification, to whom 'she' or 'they' in a sentence refers and why the object isn't obvious.
I've been told that the problem is 'You don't listen!' but I think, as has been suggested by SHJ, we just aren't clairvoyant.

If they are so good at reading each other minds - why do they have to all talk at once?

The need to emote, plain and simple. Males, in general don't have the same need to constantly emote. If you casually observe smartphone texting whilst out and about the largest portion of those constantly messaging will be of the fairer sex. It's an in-built bit of software dontchaknow ;-)

I accept that women know and see everything in a man's stray thoughts - even for a micro-millionth of a nano-second.

Sometimes you just got to think of football to save yourself from having to come up with an excuse that won't work anyway.

If women are so good at mind-reading, why do they need a phone to text?

When you spend a great deal of time with the same person, you can do this with some accuracy but it's not 100% by any means.

I have seen many fights break out between two women who were using the partial sentence thing and thought they were talking about the same thing but were not, then some offence or another is thought to have been uttered and the fight is on. Women start to think of themselves as psychic and expect you to be as well.

It's fascinated me for many years now how they do this.. watch two guys chatting over a beer or whatever and it's pretty clear that for the most part one is listening before responding.. then take a look across at two women chatting and you'l see both mouths dashing away at the same time.. Maybe mind reading is the clue here.

All my ex-wives (there have been a few) accused me of not understanding them. One of the contributory triggers for arriving at this conclusion were the (numerous) occasions when I was on the receiving end of the "silent treatment". I would ask if I had done anything wrong and receive a sharp "No". So I'd go down the pub.

Apparently that was the wrong response........

Yet apparently they knew exactly what I was thinking. Weird science.

Women have it a lot easier than men.

It's simple to read men's minds. We really only think of one thing.

But for men to read women's minds: well, you might as well query the fundamentals of astrophysics and string theory.

I once saw two women in a department store in Liverpool shopping for a present in men's clothing. One held up a jumper and said "What do you think about that?" Her friend said "Don't you think it's a bit thingy for him?" to which the other replied "Yes you're probably right." I'm sure they both knew what they meant.

Without doubt there is a lot more going on than we know.
My own experience of ESP or whatever was frightening as well astounding.
Both our kids were at uni in the UK whilst us olds were in the Pit.
When the kids were small and when I was home my side of our bed was first port of call for nightmares and Dad I feel !
Our son was in his 1st term living in Halls.
At exactly 0600 DXB time I woke up with a real start saying "are you OK Pooks?" (his nickname).
Mrs A woke up asking me why I was talking to our boy when he was 3800 miles away?
I said something had happened, she said I was dreaming ........ Again!! Ha!
Anyway long story short, our son's Halls had caught fire and he had been woken with a start, scared and evacuated at exactly 0200 or 0600 DXB time!
Very spooky!

I'm not entirely certain that I want to know the answer.

Firm believe that the mind works across time zones and places........... remembering SWMBO niece in car with me in place she never been.

Said as we drove along I have been here before............... she surprised I accepted her Deja Vu easily, said its real just accept it.

Best example from my own experience.
Yours truly wanders down the hallway to the kitchen in search of scissors. I reach the kitchen, then see my beautiful wife curled up on the couch reading the newspaper (her face hidden behind the paper). Suddenly can't remember why I came down to the kitchen (if you saw her legs you'd understand...) Without me making a sound, and without her so much as moving the paper, she says "bottom drawer".
