Well it breaks down some of the stereotypes in that it wasn't fried chicken, watermelon or corn bread but unfortunately reinforces some of the others.

Two tourists, one Belgian, one Dutch, trampled to death by an elephant in Zambia. Reports say they got too close to the animal while trying to take photographs.

News report, in French.

Nature's way of saying 'you need a longer lens'?

Still a sad outcome to what was supposed to be a holiday of course.

Individual elephants are bad news. The herd is run by a matriarch and the bulls do as they are told. Should there be too many or one upsets SHMBO then they are cast out of the herd. This results in several tons of testosterone wandering around with nowhere to put it and they get considerably hacked off; with anything!

Years ago one of them charged a Bayer Garrett 4-6-2-2-6-4 locomotive with about thirty ore trucks behind it. It survived and I was part of one of the teams looking for it as it was now lethal.

It took about two hours following the carnage.

They used to be culled but the poachers get them first.

Indeed, often wondered as to how Charlie managed certain, erm, biological functions on his unfortunate choice of trip on the MTA.....always liked the Kingston Trio by the way.

Are those tanks on the side covert chem trail dispensers then ?...chem trails being the only conspiracy theory missing from an otherwise impeccable compilation of such.

Fate can be cruel at times, and, seemingly, the Feds also got involved with some arcane regulatory trivia. And, sadly, the departure from the gate ( quite literally ) was also delayed by engineering......thus giving a whole new meaning to that well known expression " Request push and start " to boot.

Personally, I suspect a covert ops plan conceived by NASA and instigated by disguised lizards to be at the heart of this unexpected delay....

Do successful candidates for that ‘Mars One’ project (not that I believe for a second that it will happen) count? After all, assuming they’re not killed, any procreaction they get up to won’t matter as they’ll never be able to infect the Earth’s gene pool!

Don't be a kill joy troppo, the Apollo was steam powered, some fib and say hydrogen/kerosene and oxygen, depending on engine though.
