Chilcot enquiry - the gravy train sails on

You really couldn't make it up. An enquiry into why an enquiry is taking so long.
It puts me in mind of a colleague who wrote a three page letter to a manager explaining that he wasn't verbose after said manager complained that my colleague's log entries were too long.

C'mon, cut them some slack. Slippery Tone has to read all the drafts first, then consult his lawyers to construct some weasel wriggles through the legal verbiage.

Can't have Teflon Tone being charged with war crimes... There have to be some privavledges to being in the Bush brown-nose club.

If we're talking sailing, shouldn't it be gravy boat?

Looks as if 6 July is the date. Things are really moving along rapidly now!

At last! The Chilcot Report into the Iraq war will be published | Coffee House

Yet another delay, this time so it can be buried under the referendum fallout.

The report has long been finished and there's no reason why the button can't be pressed today.

It's a good thing Gordon Brown actually commissioned the Chilcot Inquiry at all. Otherwise I suspect that it would all have been swept under the table.

I wonder if the Report will say how many £millions the Inquiry has cost taxpayers.

It began in July 2009!

It's good to see such an lack of pre-judgement.

If it's your view that the enquiry will only be right if it agrees with your prejudices then it was a complete waste of money and effort, because clearly it won't change the minds of the brainless tit contingent.

I will take a small bet that the report will be far too long and detailed for most people to read. Many, especially here on PPRuNe, will simply 'Cherry Pick' and quote without context. Expect page after page of PPRuNe misinterpretation and arguments misconstrued to suit an individuals personal views.

What an awesome way of saying 'if I don't agree you've 'cherry picked', if I do you are spot on'.

I admire your presumption that things will turn out bad for the invasion of Iraq. I also admire your steadfast belief in your convictions.

I don't admire that you can't accept that you got it wrong on this occasion. It must hurt like a bitch,

My view on WMD is this.

Soddim wanted us to think he had WMD, therefore we acted as though he had WMD. The fact that he didn't have them is neither here nor there. He cried wolf and got caught out.
