I am saddened to hear of Con-pilots demise. He was a worthy contributor to PPRuNe. Here is Alec's obituary from the Oklahoman.

ALEC CAUDELL Obituary - Oklahoma City, OK | Oklahoman

In the link below is the same obituary from Buchanan Funeral Service, who conducted his funeral - and there's a guestbook page on that site where you can leave a tribute to Alec's memory.

Tried again to leave a comment in the guest book section. Still did not appear to go through.

Anyone else tried?

A gentleman.
I will be thinking about Alex (and his family) during the period of his funeral 'this evening' UK time.

I had to repeat the Captcha.

G-CPTN; I did also, several times, but it just did not appear to accept it.

To leave a guest book message of condolence requires the Captcha number to be typed in, and the word verification below the Captcha number, to be typed in as well.
If you "preview" your message, you only need to fill in one more Captcha number to post it.
I was successful in posting my condolences with no problems. There is no need to fill in all the requested address/location details, your message will still post successfully without them.

ConP was one of the first Prooners I "chatted" with... loved all that he wrote, even if I didn't always agree, and I recall him being the first to speak about deep frying a turkey hehehe some amazing stories, esp. of his ConAir adventures!!

RIP Alec.

hello Brockenspectre!

so sad that such sad news gets the 2 of us finally chatting again! Hope all is well with you. You may have heard that I "survived" a plane crash in March 2013 and I'm now in a wheel chair....and I have no more interest in flying. Well, that's life.....

Yes, CP's stories about deep frying a turkey were great. Also his pathological hatred of brussell sprouts. Loved his flying stories.

WW1950. Oooh wow. Can appreciate why you're over flying...

I've just found out about this today.

Alec, you still owe me a deep-fried turkey Thanksgiving dinner!
We'll eat it when I get there!

West Coast, I had one (colonoscopy) done not too long ago (sudden bleeding from Uranus caused concern..), and it's not as bad as you might think. General anaesthetic helps!

p.s. mine was clear (thank goodness, I'm too young for this st), but I recommend everyone keeps an eye on their health. You only get on shot.

I've not been on here in forrrrevah, but stopped in after I saw the news about C-P on propilotworld. He was as appreciated and held in high regard as much on there as he was on here.

Perhaps whoever is in contact with his wife might share the link to the PPW thread so she can read that too? There aren't many folks who have touched so many lives and left so many of us with great memories of a wonderful raconteur and a real gentleman.

Fark, fark, fark.

I haven't checked in for some time and arrive to this sad news. Con-pilot was a true gentleman, I always enjoyed his stories and insight, he will be sadly missed.

Absolutely devastated...

Indeed Hempy, indeed. Hope others use Con's passing as a starting point to improving their own.

As most people I valued greatly Con-Pilot. I never had the opportunity to meet him however this has not stopped me from him being an aspiration for me. His whole life with his early medical issues, his career (I wish I could do the same) and most of all his ideas about freedom.

Obviously, the pain for his family is still too large and our words are too poor to help them.

I'm a rare visitor now and have only just seen this. I have Alec on Facebook too but somehow missed it. What an awful shock. I really don't know what to say. RIP Alec, a true PPRuNe'r of the highest order and a real gentleman.
