Cap'n N,

Take eleven of these....

.....one of these....

...and this bloke with his box of tricks. He poured both sides from where he is standing. piece of p!$$.

It was self-levelling concrete which only required minimal tamping once it was poured - note the lack of bodies whilst the off-side is being poured.

The stuff is still wet that's why nobody is walking on it.
Why are you not down there with sticks, writing your initials in it for the ages? And throw a cat/dog on it. Every patch of fresh concrete should have paw prints across it.

At RIAT today, the F22 Raptor was sitting at the threshold, looking all mean and stuff, for a solid five minutes while some US Airman waxed lyrical about the US Airforce being the most deadly in history and the Raptor being able to attack anywhere in the world and blah blah (as Americans are want to do). It FINALLY took off for it's display, performed one turn and promptly (according to the PA) "um ... suffered a technical malfunction which will prevent completion of the display.." and retired hurt.
.... Worth the price of admission right there.

There's quite a lot more to be poured on top of that lot so any scribbling done at this stage would never be seen. We're saving all the autographs, graffiti, etc for the final pour... although had we had a visit from a former PM on Thursday, I'm sure we could have used him as part of the in-fill.

That is another cartoon not to be drawn: of folks; munching on cake grasping barrows, balancing on boards.
The Grantham Navy are in waiting.

A nice restaurant at the side of the Waitangi Visitors Centre, too.

I'm avoiding Winter in sunny California but enjoy !

Visited that establishment today, there was just one person serving at lunchtime. he was friendly
and reasonably fast but there were several people trying to order. Mind you it wasn't too bad for
him as the food at lunch was a choice between pies, sausage rolls and slices of cake. They don't
do a proper lunch menu.

Monday is once more upon us and I am puzzled as
the cherries have ripened on the tree and the birds haven't
gobbled the lot yet. I must do a bit of picking before the rains
arrive again.

Off to commit aviation in a Tiger Moth at Shoreham. Present from Mrs Fairr for achieving pensionable status.
Found an old green grow-bag in the garage, last used 1975ish at speeds in excess of sound . . . . . . .
Should be fun.

Was at Daughters at the weekend and they had their town fair on. Visited the library, where they were selling off surplus books and purchased, amongst others, one entitled 'Fifty Sheds of Grey'. Every single person who has seen the book since has misread the title.

I just saw a picture of a huge traffic jam somewhere in Indonesia and noticed they drive on the left there. They also do in Surinam, another former Dutch colony. Wonder what the story behind that is.

JF MRs G gave same present for my 60th. I flew from Duxford. Best bit was circling over Kings College watching the tourists looking up and waving.I flew it from safety height to just prior to crossing the threshold, great fun. You'll enjoy it

Trip in a Tiger Moth versus an MRI scan ?
I don't have to tell you what my choice would be.

A fine book is Fifty Sheds of Grey, MadsDad.

Tankertrashnav wasn't Indonesia occupied by Japs during WWII hence switched to the left?

Interesting links G-CPTN, thanks.

You may be right runway in sight . The Argies tried to enforce a switch to driving on the right during the Falklands occupation, but as the Kelpies all drive down the middle of the road anyway it didn't make any difference!

Good morning all.
Dry at present but quite a bit of cloud cover. 11C

Glad to hear you survived the MRI experience Mr D.
A tedious way to spend an hour I thought.

Off to the other end of Derbyshire this morning to see the aged
mater and get some maintenance jobs done around her house.

Has Derbyshire invaded the area what used to be in Cheshire and now Greater Manchester?

Is this another attempt at independence for Stalyvegas with High Peak's assistance?
