Ah, Australian beaches. I remember one Aussie personality being asked if he had ever been in the water when a shark warning was broadcast. He said yes he had and when asked what was his reaction "I got out of the water as fast as I could.... Then I made a run for the shore!"

A Japanese exchange student was admiring our beautiful Noosa beaches, when she asked, "Are there any crocodiles here?"

My reply was, "Nah, the sharks ate them all."

She couldn't tell if I was joking or not.

Very good one that, I even looked on Google Earth before I realised

My feeble excuse being that I haven't been awake long and I was still getting over the fact that
the England cricket team bowled out Australia in the Test.

Alas Australia already owned them from last time anyway On a separate note I am
not surprised in the least as England used up all of their luck for this season against
New Zealand a few weeks ago. "We were robbed" was a polite phrase being used by
myself and several others over here.

158 verses? I bet they don't play all of them if Greece wins an Olympic medal!

Tis but another omen of doom !... UK Bank holiday rain free !.............and, one would not be inclined to jump into the sea at Whitby, or anywhere else for that matter, as there's lots of big rocks and signs wot says "not advisable ".....even more so with the temptations of the renowned fish n chips venues on offer.

The trouble with not working is one decides what one is going to do on Monday morning then remembers that it's a bleedin' bank holiday and everything is ar$e-baht-fizzog...

I have just come for the mug of tea.
Now kept here by the birds at the feed table.
Who will complain if I impose on their time in the garden.

@K'n'C. Yep, foretaste of doom. Perfect holiday weekend weather and won a test match against every sort of odds. Now if you tell me it's not foggy in Whitby I'll know it's time to dig that shelter.

Watch the birdie Lord G.

A dip in the briney this afternoon, low spring tide at Hastings means a sandy beach. Walk a little way away from the crowds. Perfect!

I have just read that the pc muppets are having a go at sign language now.

Being old and rapidly past caring what the pc lot find offensive, the more I am getting tempted
to use those so called offensive words/signs. All my life I have now and then been insulted and
yes offended by words but I quickly got over it.To show any indication that they were getting at
me would have been taken as weakness on my part which could then be exploited.

Mysteriously the METARS for Whitby have vanished.....even more mysteriously, no media headlines "No Fog on North York moors. Whitby not cut off " .....one offers you this helpful link therefore.......and..... we await your appearance on "Amazing Spaces " hereafter

I see that President Bolsonaros of Brazil had refused the $22 million in aid offered by the G7 countries.

What a wimp!

His contemporises on the other side of the South Atlantic would have had most of that in a Swiss bank account within a fortnight.
