Looking forward to the new series of 'The Hollow Crown' listed for May. The first series was absolutely brilliant - have saved it and rewatched it several times. Bill The Quill certainly knew how to put a play together.

Saturday evening here, and sounds like it's going to be a hot time in the old town tonight: cars with thumpy stereo-systems passing by, unnecessarily noisy accelerations, general surgings-about - one gets to know the signs, and even on my usually quiet suburban street there seems to be an 'atmosphere'

New series of the Hollow Crown? agree 100% a gem among the dross, hard to fathom which of the Bards works they will rework though,Richard III yes,Henry VI is a tad long winded and Henry VIII is not regarded as his best.
PS I also have it on hard disk and have watched it again a few times.
Alo look forward to the sequel to Wolf Hall, another rare gem.

Good morning all and what a good morning it is too.
The itching has stopped. Why ???

Mr Sun is doing his bit here but there are lots of big white fluffy things
around that some adventurous aviator would have good fun playing with.

Off to a wedding in a short time. It's the joining together (what it says on
on the invite) of the granddaughter of a very good friend of mine, who sadly
is no longer here to witness the marriage, and the son of the landlady of
my watering hole.
They have chosen to get married on what would have been her granddad's 75th birthday. A nice touch I thought.

Interesting to see that, despite the prolific side-whiskers, the main features have been shaved - with a cut-throat I presume.

My father-in-law persisted with a cut-throat throughout his life - I wonder if it was a carry-over from his military days?

New way for NZ Police to catch people under the influence of drugs whilst in control of a motor vehicle???

A controlled burn-off of what is thought to be Marijuana at the Turangi Police Station has stunned onlookers,
with the smoke from the procedure said to have been drifting into a nearby supermarket car park.

For a short video and the rest of the story:-

Good morning to you all.
Mr Sun is radiant, which is a bit more than can be said of yours truly.

A slow start to the day and then things will need to be kicked into gear as
we're off to Portugal at dark o'clock in the morning.
Fortunately the hairyport is only 15 mins drive away and we park right next
to the terminal thus saving valuable kipping time.

Yesterday's wedding cake.
From the front -

From the back -

And the groom got away with it.

Morning folks.

Sunny and a bit breezy outside. Plenty of jobs around the house to do, so more tea is required before starting.

"Jump orfs" being conducted at horse trials in the garden of a nearby large pile - one wonders if we will hear the words "Guilty".

Nice cake HF.

....And the groom got away with it.
I would suggest it's a bit too early to make that call. Wedding cake is well known cause of male celibacy.

Yes tis strange how that works, I have found out many times.

Nice cake, though don't like marzipan if it had it.
