Although my insomnia is (largely) controlled (by medication), last night was a disaster.
With a busy day ahead tomorrow, I am hoping for a respite tonight.

Morning folks.
Slightly damp after some overnight wetness.
No 2 grandson is meant to be with us all day today. However, no 1 son and his wife have "volunteered" to take the boy off our hands and take him to a nature reserve/play park for the day. One shall not feel so knackered when his mum collects him tonight.
Grass needs cutting again!! Only mowed it last week.

Noticed it's a little quiet in here: hope all are well.
Nuffin' much to report: days becoming a little shorter each day, some snow visible on distant peaks but the cold weather hasn't really set in - yet
Daughter making good progress back at her own home; will be cleared to resume driving in a few weeks.
Meanwhile I am the chauffeuse.

Full of cruise ships here.
Semi-morons at the port complaining that the new breed of super-dooper floating villages won't fit under the Lion's Gate and they will lose money.
Good. We won't be lifting it for them.

What on earth do they expect anyone to do about it, meadowrun?

Morning all. As WillumMate says 'tis rather sharp out there this morning but has the makings of s fine day.
Good to hear of the continued progression of your daughter Karearea. Glad it went well.
My own invalid, my mother, is also making strides in the right direction. She should be released back to
the nursing home today. I can't fault the treatment she has had.
Went up to Stalybridge yesterday and cleared her house completely in anticipation of the sale completing
on Monday or Tuesday. Very sad leaving the family home that mum and dad lived in for over 60 years for
the last time yesterday.
But today is a day of celebration, it's our wedding anniversary and it is FRIDAY

Watched an excellent feature (on replay) from the BBC last night (on return from boozer) - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b2s8d5 (Joshua v Klitschko: Return to Wembley)
Joshua and Klitschko, individually and jointly reminiscing and commenting on their title fight a year or so ago - supported by some fabulous footage of the fight - fascinating (and a great advert for boxing, on which I admit to having mixed views on generally).

Morning folks.
Sunny outside.
A day for doing stuff on me canal, probably vegetation control of some sort. We had a good weekend last week with tea, cakes and boat trips raising over £1400 to go toward the restoration of the waterway. A big lottery win wouldn't go amiss.

handsfree - glad to hear your Mama progresses.
It will have been a wrench to see it change hands, after such a long time - two generations' worth? - and I'm sure you'll treasure special memories of the family home.
Wedding anniversary congratulations and felicitations to you & Mrs HF.

They can also do what the big rig truckers do, let out some air to lower the vessel
Good to hear our invalids are doing well and congratulations on your anniversary, hf ... hope it's a lovely day for you full of happy memories and smiles.

Just been watching the early evening news. It would appear that HF's bailiwick is a place to avoid this weekend for anyone considering travelling through that area. The M1 is being closed between J23a and J24 for the weekend whilst a new bridge is put in. The word "gridlock" was mentioned several times in the report.

That was bad enough. The complete closure between J23a and J24a should be interesting
to say the least.
The cramp fairies were out and about during the night. Nasty little critturs they are.
